Darn important bridge for New Orleans and Gretna. The bridge goes by several names. signage refers to the Mississippi River Bridge. It's also the highway 90 Bridge. Here it's called the crescent connection Bridge. I wish it had a pedestrian and bicycle path. Take some pictures of the bridge from the Riverwalk.

This is a huge bridge and you must cross it when in NOLA to experience the great infrastructure the city has. You can see the bridge from your hotel and this is just another landmark of the beautiful city of New Orleans.

The crescent city connection bridge is huge and spans the width of the Mississippi River. Well worth taking a photo as it’s significant.

This is a big workhorse bridge that crosses the river. It's an impressive piece of engineering, not especially pretty, but serves the city. Drive across!

Called the Crescent City Connection Bridge there are actually 2 & they are known as “Twins “. This bridge runs HWY 90 over the Mississippi River into New Orleans. The total length is 13,428 feet. The 2 steel bridges are beautiful the way they peak & then fall gracefully. These cantilever bridges are known as the fifth longest bridges in the world. A bridge race is held here yearly in September & sounds like fun to me!

This is a good example of something everyone takes for granted. This engineering feat has only one other review from a foreign tourist who appreciated the structure enough to let the tripadvisor know about it. I don't know much about civil engineering, but I believe it is a very long cantilever consruction. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. I just appreciate a solid surface under my tires when I'm that high up above a deep wide river and that there's a lot less traffic on the west bank. It is easy to approach from that side, a heck of a lot more confusing when trying to get on it from the convention center. Make sure you have enough gas so it's not A Bridge Too Far. During Katrina it was A Bridge Over Troubled Waters. Ok, I'll stop.
