This was by far my favorite tour! We schdueled for a sunday morning so we were the only ones on the tour and it was just wonderful. Since it was only the three of us wegot to ask so many more questions and he could really get into detail about anything we wanted. Highly recommend this tour we learned so much and our guide was just a wonderful story teller.

We took this guided walking tour just by luck and so glad we did it!
Highly recommend it because it was not only very interesting in learning about the history of smuggling through the stories told by our tour guide but it was fun and amazing. To us it was the best tour in the French quarter located on Toulouse street. Worth getting tickets before hand as it is very popular.. kids will love it as our guide made it appealing to all ages. In our opinion this is one of the top 10 things to do when visiting New Orleans.

Oh my goodness... this tour guide had me cracking up for the whole tour. He was so engaging! I loved this tour. Everything he spoke of he said he researched and studied and I loved that it was accurate. We weren’t given facts that were just for publicity and “themed”. I thoroughly enjoyed learning about the LaFitte brothers and how they influenced the survival of the city. I enjoyed learning of what was relayed rumor and what was actual fact. I like that he gave both accounts and let us decide for ourselves if we choose to verify his facts, where he found them. Years of research compounded into our tour made me want to buy this man a drink and pick his brain. I am grateful that this tour is around and he is so willing to share it with us. We had members in our group that were in it for the fun and he delivered! He showed up dressed as a pirate, complete with some dirt makeup to give an idea of what they may have looked like back then. I would take this again anytime. Thank you Captain for the knowledge and the laughs!

We had only us 3 - I was hoping our tour guide wouldn't be disappointed but he never missed a beat. He added that they often do small groups and in reality that's preferable. I love good stories as well as factual history. He provided both; maybe a little more on the history portion but I enjoy that. I think he could have talked forever and again that was a plus. No dull spots and he was accommodating to how we wanted to do the tour (including an urgent need for a restroom break!). We forgot to get his name, but he's in the picture on the left. We enjoyed the tour. If all you want is PoftheC stuff, this is not really it, but good background and stories of early New Orleans.

We enjoyed the tour. The way our guide told stories was entertaining, interesting and informative. We could almost see pirates walking around Pirates Alley! He explained the importance of the Lafitte brothers to the city, the economy and the enjoyment of life. His story about the battle of New Orleans would be exciting for all ages. I think our grandsons would enjoy it too. Easy walking and lots of stops for stories. I wish I’d have worn a pirate outfit. Passerbys shouted “aaargh!” Good fun.

I was really excited for this and my expectations were blown out of the water. It turned out I was the only one on the tour as the rest of the group cancelled last minute.

The guide was awesome!! He provided so much information on cannons, the history of pirates in New Orléans, the influence they had. Took me to areas of interest and changed the tour around a bit so I could finish at Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop and have a few drinks. Normally they finish in a different place even though the do visit there.

All in all it was so interesting and fun and engaging. I love pirates and this was such an awesome experience to have and to learn about the city of New Orleans in its early days.

Our tourguide was decked out in pirate gear despite the July heat. He was funny, interacted with guests, and best of all gave light to the contributions of the New Orleans pirates. His passion for accurate history was contagious. Highly recommended this tour to pirate fans & history enthusiasts.

This was a great tour, dedicated to a particular place and time - New Orleans, early 1800s - and 2 specific pirates, the Lafitte brothers. Who knew that without the help of these pirates and their crews, the British might have captured New Orleans in 1812? And that the enterprising Lafittes were pirates AND businessmen, providing much needed goods to the people of New Orleans? After your enjoyable, easy-paced walking tour, YOU will know. The Quartermaster was a companionable, friendly and witty guide, who took the weather (very rainy) in stride, and still gave us a great tour

The Captain led us through the streets and alleyways of the Quarter, regaling us with the pirate legends before recounting the truth behind them.

I was expecting a fun piratey themed tour of the French Quarter (which it was), but I learned a lot! It was a fascinating and hilarious time, and everyone should experience it!

10 out of 10, would recommend.
