Address
Neighborhood: French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.

Best Tour in New Orleans
Oct 2021
Denise Augustine was absolutely amazing. By far the best guided tour we have ever been on. She was very knowledgeable about all aspects of the history and area of New Orleans. Wherever we went locals were greeting her and there wasn't a question or subject she didn't know. she is very proud and passionate about New Orleans. We spent 5 busy days in New Orleans and spending time with Denise was by far our favorite part of the trip. She felt like family by the time we were done. She specifically tailored the tour to our interest. After the tour she gave us recommendations on what else to visit. Denise Augustine is a must do if you are traveling to New Orleans.

Memorable NOLA experience with Ms. Augustine!
Oct 2019
I walked over to the cemetary not knowing you must book a tour guide. When I got there, Ms. Denise Augustine was getting a group together outside the cemetary and had a flair, sass, and love to her voice and spirit that I was drawn in. She pointed at me and said, "You joinin us dear?" and boom, she got me.

The tour was informative, and Ms. Augustine is the REAL DEAL Creole woman. The knowledge that was shared, the real talk that was had, and her animated, in your face, yet with love personality was more than I can ever describe and be thankful for.
If you're looking for an experience, not just a tour, then book with Ms. Denise Augustine. She is a memorable individual that highlighted my experience of NOLA. To this day, when I share my NOLA trip, I like to describe her to my friends, and act her out. She is an vibrant elder whom I hope to meet again.

Best Tour Ever!!
Mar 2020
We had the amazing opportunity to enjoy Denise's expertise and enthusiasm. She was there early and as soon as we arrived she began our tour. She not only shared her stories but provided the "heartbeat" of New Orleans by sharing the music of those musicians and singers she's telling about. She even taught us to second line through Louis Armstrong Park!
She's an authentic, bold, and passionate tour guide who sincerely wants to share the history of this area. If you want to "know" New Orleans, then this tour is a MUST! I would highly encourage anyone even thinking about this tour to book it. Book it, immediately. Get ready to experience a truly fantastic tour!

(Denise, we went back the next morning to sit under the large tree in Congo Square and he proposed!)

Amazing Tour
Feb 2020 • Friends
Ms. Denise Augustine is an amazing soul and she shares that with you on her Sacred Stories tour. I was lucky enough to tour with her one on one. She made me laugh, she made me dance and she answered my questions and gave me insight into a world I know little about. Her stories painted pictures of New Orleans history that made you feel it. Thank you so much Ms. Denise for allowing me this opportunity. I swear I could hear the people in Congo square and feel the dancing. In a word “amazing”. I’ll be back. I promise.

Worth the money
Mar 2020 • Couples
NO REGRETS: When we had heard that St. Louis #1 was now $20 a pop, we almost turned away. Boy am I glad that we didn’t. Not only did we get an incredible history tour of New Orleans, voodoo, and civil rights, but we also were laughing our butts off in the process! Denise Augustine was our tour guide, and if you can take her tour, make sure to request it. She is a self-proclaimed raconteur, and she has earned the title for sure. Every bit of history was filled with morbid-humor, and the kinds of facts that only a true native New Orleans member would know. I could not rate this tour higher, and plan to take it again if I’m ever back here in the Big East. You never know when someone new might be moving in! Plus you can see Nick Cage’s future tomb.

It was my pleasure. Thank you for taking the tour with me. With as much death and dying as we have in our history you have got to look at with humor. Remember 10,000 people died one summer. Amazing tour guide!

Wow! Miss Denise was magical. Her tour was funny, informative, and exciting. I also loved that she is a strong, take no nonsense woman - kind of like a role model and tour guide all in one. She brought her personality to the tour, which is what made it great. Thank you, Miss Denise, for making our visit to New Orleans even more special.

NOLA 2020 Trip - Afro-Creole Walking Tour
Mar 2020
This was our 2nd Trip to New Orleans and on this trip we wanted to do more touring and learn more about the culture of the City and the people of New Orleans. Doing some pre-trip research we came across the Afro-Creole tour and it sounded exactly like what we were looking for and it was and more! By far our favorite experience of this trip. Ms. Augustine is very knowledgeable, funny, and educating. I highly recommend this tour if have any interest in the Afro-Creole culture or even if you don't know if it would interest you. I think you will enjoy this experience.

The day prior to the tour, we walked to the meeting location to be sure we knew how long it took to get there and we could find it. The meeting location was at Armstrong Park in Congo Square. We enjoyed the park walking around looking at the various statues and exhibits, which was nice, but walking through with Ms Augustine, it was a much more rewarding and rich experience.

On a final note, we were going to arrive in New Orleans Tuesday evening and had scheduled the tour for Wednesday morning. The day prior to our trip the weather forecast was predicting heavy rain and I called to inquire about cancellation/rescheduling policy. Ms. Augustine was extremely accommodating and rescheduled for Friday morning. Even though it never did end up raining on Wednesday, she was there on time, ahead of time and gave us a great experience.

This is the cemetery tour to take!
Mar 2020
My husband and I did this tour on March 2. The other guests had cancelled their reservations, so we had Denise all to ourselves. Wha an incredible , vibrant, and knowledgeable story teller she is! I loved her explanations on how Catholicism and voodoo blended to create much of the New Orleans culture. When we got to the cemetery tour part, you could tell she was known and well thought of by many of the locals there and I caught folks on other tours trying to listen in on ours ;-) If you're planning a trip to NOLA, a tour by Denise is a must-do!
