This was a wonderful, peaceful and educational 2 hour paddle tour of a scenic and secluded swamp. Many opportunities to take photographs. Also included in our tour package was a tour of the Whitney Plantation where the staff created a very sobering experience. Many areas for reflections on past history. Transportation is included. Great for the whole family!

Captain AL took us out into the swamp and it was amazing! We felt safe and comfortable on our tour. My children were a little apprehensive at how close we would get to the alligators. We got to see many gators but did not disturb them. It was very peaceful and no one felt scared. Captain AL was a great teacher! He informed us about the history of the area, the animals, and plant life. We learned so much! The cherry on top of our trip was getting to see the lighthouse. I highly recommend this tour for families visiting the area. It was a fun learning experience.

The tour itself was interesting, and it was cool to see the flora and fauna along the canals. Our tour guide hit the high points. However, I wish the tour guide would have told us more about the history of the area and everything that we saw, rather than delivering his opinions about NOLA and social issues. Some of his opinions made me feel a bit awkward and uncomfortable. The tour was billed as an eco-friendly tour, but the only thing that really felt eco-friendly is that they didn’t feed the gators.

This was a great tour. Capt. Al was our guide and he was very knowledgeable about the area. I’m not sure how he was able to spot everything but it seemed like nothing could get past him, including the gators! Also, all of our children (2,6,11) keep telling us how awesome the tour was. Definitely recommend!

We did the "Paddle and Plantation" tour and had an excellent experience. Pick up from our hotel was easy, and our guide was fantastic in terms of knowledge and passion for the wildlife/ecosystem. The kayaking was beautiful, the restaurant we stopped at for lunch was delicious, and the tour of the Whitney Plantation was powerful.
