Our group did the Manchac swamp kayak tour and Whitney plantation with Jessica. She was the best tour guide we’ve had here in New Orleans. She’s very knowledgeable about what she does and is extremely kind and down to earth.

I have been going to New Orleans for years and always wanted to take a swamp tour and I'm extremely happy that my wife and I did and that it was with Beyond the Bayou. Albert was awesome and extremely knowledgeable. It's a great way to see another side of the Big Easy!

This is an absolutely amazing tour! We came to New Orleans without a car and chose to be shuttled to the dropoff point. Katy was our driver and she was so sweet. She made sure we were comfortable at every point. Captain Al led our tour. He's a hoot as well as knowledgeable about the different flora and fauna that are in the swamp. We saw many birds, plants, giant snails and a few alligators! This company cares a lot about environmental effects that come from swamp tours and that means a lot to me. I recommend Beyond the Bayou to anybody that wants an authentic eco-friendly tour that you can feel good about.

Exceptional time with exceptional people! We booked this trip last minute and the Beyond the Bayou team were more than accommodating. They kept us informed on weather and safety, while working with our expectations. We went out for an early morning tour and not only saw some of the great wildlife the Bayou has to offer, but learned along the way. We’re incredibly grateful that we could find a company that has an eco agenda and conservation at their core. We can’t wait to return soon and book another tour!

My wife and I went on the brilliant 'Paddles and Plantation' tour in August 2019, as part of our trip to New Orleans from London, England. The day started with a surreal touch - over breakfast we watched a video of the Wild Tchoupitoulas Indian Tribe, not knowing that our driver for the day was the tribe's legendary flagboy, Gizmo, who (apart from being the perfect host all day) gave us a firsthand insight into the whole NOLA Indian culture. The 'paddles' part of the day was both exciting and relaxing - our guide was friendly and knowledgeable and tuned into what we wanted. He knew exactly when to 'show and tell' and when just to let us paddle along and soak up the bayou atmosphere! The plantation tour was fascinating. It was really well informed and rightly didn't sugar-coat the grim history of the place. All in all it was a great day and 'Beyond the Bayou' are highly recommended.
