The area
Neighborhood: French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.

Sad band.

The bartenders and bouncers were nice. And The band changes so this is only my experience one night, but man was the band cringey. Watching 50 year old men make jokes about Justin Bieber being gay is incredibly pathetic.

You just have to hear the band once and you will be hooked !! The singers and the guys on all of instruments are absolutely fantastic. It is a must for me every time we go to New Orleans and the French Quarter !!

Good Drinks Great Band
Oct 2018
I was walking up Bourbon Street when I hit a ton of construction going on. As I was squeezed onto the sidewalk with thousands of other visitors to the French Quarter I came past the 544. The music was pumping out the door so I decided to step in. Man that was a great decision - the band was lively, playing the best of R&B, and the drinks were well made. This unfortunate construction detour turned out to be the best night I had over the weekend. I truly enjoyed my experience at the 544.

Great dance club. Kick-a__ band playing 70s-80s dance tunes. Very talented band! Good AC (you need this to dance in NOLA), great bartender, clean bathrooms.

Get Your Groove On!!!!
Mar 2018
I don't know the name of the band that plays on Monday-Thursday nights, but they are spectacular. I think I counted at least 8 members in the group. The lead singer has vocal skills second to none. The other members who back him up on vocals and instruments are incredible. They can play cover music that gets people out on to the dance floor and reveal dance moves that are almost outta sight! We heard them on a Monday, and then again on Thursday. The place was packed! Why this group is performing only on Bourbon Street is a mystery. They have a great stage presence with solid vocals, tremendous instruments, and hot sex appeal.

Line dancing meets disco
Nov 2017 • Couples
With a Jackson tribute band bopping the night away, I was shocked to find the everybody in the club was line dancing. But when all said and done, everyone was having a good time. The music is loud so don't expect a chance to talk. Price are standard to all the pubs/bars in Bourbon St
