Note: this review is only for the music venue; not the restaurant. I recently had the opportunity to see a show at this jazz club and it was great! Snug indeed, this two story club space is not spacious or fancy but there didn't really appear to be a bad seat in the house and I loved the intimacy of... More

This venue was a true treat that I discovered on my latest trip to New Orleans. It is on Frenchman Street...the block is lined with other jazz clubs. I found this venue to be one of the best. We had a bite to eat - the food was good and the music was better. The live show for the night... More

Fabulous evening at Snug Harbor. We got a table on the main floor. Best sazerac in town in my opinion. We didn't have dinner here beforehand though so I can't speak to what the food is like. t do wish you could take a picture either before or after the musicians play however.

An intimate setting for great jazz. It was a real treat for this first-time visitor to New Orleans to hear a premier artist, Delfeayo Marsalis, and his sextet. The club was recommended as a "must" by friends who are true aficionados. You won't normally find traditional New Orleans music here. Our evening was billed as a tribute to Charlie Parker.... More

I wanted to hear real jazz in a comfortable setting - Snug Harbor was just right! Plenty of comfortable seating on 2 levels, great acoustics (I.e. you could hear the musicians whisper to each other). $15 ticket but we arrived mid-set and the ponytailed ticket manager offered us half off. "We're just glad you're here!", he said with full sincerity.... More

We got to see the 8pm Friday show of Ellis Marsalis Quartet and I'm so grateful. What a treat. He's so gifted and has shared and taught for so many years. The other band members are equally impressive and it's clear that they have chemistry. Wonderful jazz.

Great hamburgers on delicious buns! Disappointed that they charged for drink refills, extras for baked potatoes. They don't give separate checks which is hard on large groups in this day and time of debit/credit cards. Owners should really rethink some of these practices.

It was our first night in New Orleans and we found this place- it was just ok. Husbands shrimp tasted old and my baked potato was cold and hard. Not good.

We visit Snug Harbor every time we are in NOLA and try to make it on Monday night to see artist, Charmaine Neville! She is amazing, talented and puts on such a fun show.

Went to watch Shannon Powell here and it was a nice place. Sat down and had to wait a really long time to get a drink. While the band were playing we all really enjoying the music and telling each other how much we liked it, a member of staff came to tell us they had a complaint that we... More

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighborhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
