Ride with us at Confederacy of Cruisers, New Orleans original and oldest...

Ride with us at Confederacy of Cruisers, New Orleans original and oldest bike tour company. Going on 10 years of great tours and great customers keeping us feeling like the luckiest folks in New Orleans every day when we come to work. The tour that started them all and our others, the Culinary, the History of Drinking and our combined Pedal to Paddle with our friends at Kayakityat.

New Orleans is so more than the French Quarter and we want to show you what most visitors don't get to experience. The heart of our city is seen through its other historic neighborhoods on the Creole side of Town, the beautiful Faubourg Marignyand Bywater; and there is no better way to explore them than with New Orleans' original bicycle tour company. Join us as we take you for a bike ride around the old streets and tell you the stories of the New Orleans that most tourists miss. The ride is relaxed, with plenty of time to ask questions, and a stop along the way at a neighborhood bar where you can find out all you want about local life while drinking a delicious Bloody Mary, if you like (water or nothing are also fine choices). For those who want to delve a little deeper, we offer a tasty Neighborhood Culinary Tour and a Historic Drinking Tour (where you get to indulge as you learn), all travelling through our our city like the locals do, on easy to ride classic cruiser bicycles. One speed, slow.

We wanted and got a strong experience of the Katrina flood and recovery in the lower 9th. Derek was great even though we were a group of just 2 that day. Learned cultural influences, government structure (what's a ward?) and met a few survivors and experienced their spirit.

It was a Tuesday in mid-August, and despite being "closed" and temps in the very high 90s, Derrick agreed to a 3 hour tour for our family of 3. It was by far the best part of our 2 day stay.

We loved NOLA 8th generation Derrick Wood! Not only was he very knowledgeable and down to Earth, he took us all around for a REAL look of my favorite American city ---back streets, important landmarks, cemeteries ( a personal story blew me away), and beautiful parks all in 3 hours. He also informed us the RIGHT way to say Burgundy... More

I would HIGHLY recommend this tour to anyone visiting New Orleans. Our group was 6 people and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it - from the biking, to the stories, to the drinking - it was awesome. Ashley was so much fun and not only did we see the city, we felt like we were getting an insiders guide to NOLA. After... More

Tour Guide: Lara Tour: Creole Bike Tour Having decided to do this tour at the last minute, it turned out to be the best decision we made during our time in New Orleans. We were in a small group (5 + guide), meaning we all had the opportunity to speak with the tour guide and learn from her. Her knowledge,... More

We took the morning cocktail tour and had a blast. The bikes, guide , drinks and info given where all top notch and well worth the $$$. I run an electric bike tour company in Austin TX and have very high expectations, every one of them exceeded.

It was a great tour - we cycled round easily whilst visiting various restaurants to eat good local food. Cassady our tour guide is welcoming and informative and loves New Orleans and food

Keith Hurtt led our bicycle group on this tour. It lasted about three hours with plenty of stops so not a very strenuous ride. Keith was irreverent and funny. A lifelong resident of New Orleans, he has a very NOLA attitude. He doesn't take himself or the city that seriously, but obviously loves the place and packs a ton of... More

We had not been on a bike for almost 20 years. Took a little while and it was like yesterday that we last rode a bicycle. Have to be comfortable to ride on some roads with motor traffic but most of the route was on back streets with very little traffic. Our tour guide was Keith. He can tell you... More

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighborhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
