Six of us went on this tour organized by Historic New Orleans tours, meeting at the bookstore at the Rink. (Just an aside but this is a very cool bookstore.) Dave was our guide and he was a fount of knowledge. From the cemetery to the area, to houses and history and style of architecture, he knows his city. My only complaint was the pace. Personally for me, it was too slow and too much standing around listening, and waiting for people who were ear jockeying to move on. Two other people who were in our tour group were less physically agile which also slowed the pace, but overall, when you join a group you go with the average. Did learn a lot.

We visited and took a terrific tour with enthusiastic guide. So much info shared that I decided to visit the local book store to learn more.

First only two of us were in the group that morning. I think the heat may have chased others away. Not only was our guide well versed in the area but he also lived very close by. This helped with his knowledge of the Garden District. He was very passionate about the history and the people. He answered all questions and was patient with us concerning our questions. I found it very educational learning about the history behind the Garden District and the cemetary. Fascinating! Homes are beautiful! The cemetery itself was a unique experience. You really shouldn't pass up this opportunity to learn about the city you are visiting.

loved my experience on our Garden District walk! We had a great time listening to our guide Bruce. He provided us with so much knowledge about the rich history in the Garden District. Our tour group met in David Spielman Gallery in the cool air conditioning. I really appreciated the bottled water and access to a clean bathroom. After the tour, we ended in the gallery and cooled off while getting to see some amazing photography. I will come back again next time I visit!

We showed up promptly for our two-hour walk around the Garden District and our guide was ready. The great news was that it was just the two of us. The guide was great - history mixed with interesting anecdotes and some interesting architectural history. Really a Great Morning!
