We had a great Easter Sunday morning tour with Isabelle! She was knowledgeable and accommodating. The tour is available in multiple languages. We really enjoyed the stops and getting to see parts of the city we wouldn’t have seen by ourselves. Or known the history! We were only in New Orleans for two days and I feel we really got an immersive experience in a short time! I recommend booking through Tours by Isabelle directly to answer any questions prior to booking your tour. We traveled with a five year old and a booster seat was provided.
We booked the tour before having a hotel reserved. Isabelle recommended a gorgeous boutique, Olivier House. Right around the corner was a delicious Venezuelan restaurant too called Avilas Grill. A short walk in the morning we grabbed Beignets from Cafe Du Monda. That line got long quickly so plan to go early! The day prior we did a airboat alligator excursion that we saw and even held an alligator! Overall New Orleans was a whirlwind weekend of fun. Next time we will visit when our kid is older to see the ww2 museum and Easter parades!

Did the swamp/plantation tour with John. He was an excellent guide. His knowledge of New Orleans history was incredible. The tour is a small group so you have much more time to take everything in and take pictures.

The company as a whole is incredible at keeping in contact for pick up times and are very punctual.

Would definitely use them again.

Excellent tour of two very interesting plantation homes and airboat tour of a swamp. I highly recommend Isabelle as she is very knowledgeable of the area and its history. She is also very accommodating as we had different pick up point that she made arranged with no problems. Then, when an unexpected rainout of our swamp tour happened, she worked us in on another day when we were coming back through the area. Her customer service is outstanding. The tour of both plantation homes gave a great insight into the history of the area and the people who built it. The swamp tour was very educational into the ecosystem of the swamp and entertaining as well as we saw numerous alligators and our son got to feed some. All in all, this tour with Isabelle was definitely a highlight of our vacation. I highly recommend it. We will be looking into some of her other tours for a future trip to the area.

Our tour guide Gisèle was the absolute best! She was a fountain of knowledge, and humor on what was a perfect itinerary that didn’t feel rushed. The airboat captain, and multiple plantation tour guides were also excellent at their tours! 100% recommend you do this if you want to see awesome sights, and learn a ton of New Orleans history!

We had Rene for our tour of the Whitney (and one other plantation). We had carefully chosen the Whitney in particular because of its accurate historical framing and emotionality (something noted by another person who chose Tours by Isabelle when we were looking up reviews ourselves). The logistics of getting there and back to our hotel were exemplary. Rene himself knows so much about New Orleans history and made the trip to and from informative and delightful. We were also able to book rather last-minute, which was a blessing since so many other tours had filled up. We really truly got lucky.

My husband and I visited New Orleans this month. I had been planning this trip for about a year. Then Covid hit. Isabelle was absolutely awesome. She kept me informed, offered different times and options as well as worked around my schedule. The small but personal airboat company was great. Last time we did an airboat ride ( also our first one) was with a company that was very commercialized. This was more personal and informative. The 2 plantations were interesting. Unfortunately the second tour was hampered by a down pour that we all were soaked and could not see the gardens. This is a must do activity and Isabelle is the best.

We were picked up at our hotel right on time and started the day with an airboat tour. This was a lot of fun, we saw plenty of alligators. Isabelle recommended we bring a windbreaker for the ride and I was thankful for it. Then we visited two plantations. We had insightful tours at both places and stayed just long enough.
Our guide, John, is of course local and pointed out places of interest along the way. We rode around in a very comfortable van with air conditioning. Lunch was included in the tour. There was plenty of food and it was excellent.
We thought this tour was a great value for the money and would absolutely use Tours by Isabelle in the future.

We were picked up at our front door and taken to an air boat tour on a private series of canals in the swamp. Because they are protected, the gators there are recognized by name and location and come to the boat expecting chicken for the big ones and marshmallows for the little ones. Very knowledgeable guide and some up close encounters. From there to the Lara plantation which has been restored to its original look. An excellent look at a working sugar operation. Next was the Houmas plantation which was restored by an oil baron who combined authentic themes with his own glitz in landscaping and decor. Lunch was included and was excellent. Both plantation tour guides were very knowledgeable and did not glamorize the fact that these were slave run plantations. The guide at Houmas was a hoot making the tour very entertaining as well as informative. This is a must do tour to appreciate southern Louisiana.

Steve was our guide and was very knowledgeable and gave us great history and details of the area. We went on a 2 hour airboat ride where we saw some alligators. The alligators did get fed by the airboat driver and guide. We also saw all kinds of birds native to the area.
Our tour and experience also included 2 plantation tours; Laura Plantation and Houmas House. We had a wonderful buffet lunch which was included.
The plantation tours were very interesting and insightful. The guides were very knowledgeable and did a great job explaining the history of the plantations.
I would definitely recommend this excursion and tour with Steve if you are in the New Orleans area.

At the last minute and in the middle of the summer season I decided to reach out to Isabelle to take a personalised tour.

I work in disaster management and recovery with a focus on community resilience in my home country, so I had a pretty specific goal in mind. I wanted recovery lessons from “the storm” and Ida that I could take back to my team as we had just been through a significant cyclone of our own and were looking down the barrel of a long recovery. Isabelle absolutely delivered for me.

Her communication was excellent, especially given the timeframe and she worked with me to make sure I could see what I needed. I was able to see different areas and get a really tailored experience that I will never forget. I definitely recommend Tours by Isabelle as a company. I found them friendly, incredibly helpful and sincere.

Giselle, my guide on the day was amazing, she was very knowledgeable and knew exactly what I was hoping to get from the experience, she really went above and beyond (in a sweltering heatwave!) to make sure I got the information I needed. I came away with about 5 pages of my notes to take home and have been able to give valuable presentations from it in my country. I have also woven the many stories she told me into community preparedness sessions so the tour was valuable in lots of ways. Giselle gave me a great personal perspective and I really appreciated that she gave up her time to show me around.

Overall, excellent experience from start to end and I thoroughly recommend it.
