It was an educational area that was full of history. The boards telling what things were was helpful. The trails going through this area are marked well on a map - make sure you have the map since there are places where the trail utilizes...More

Hiked to the Bailly Homestead and Chellberg Farm. If you are interested in history these places have the original buildings. The trails to the areas are easy walking.

We hiked the full loop to the cemetery and homestead, and it was an easy hike. It was muddy in parts, but we were able to complete it in sneakers, as opposed to hiking boots. The grass around the buildings on the homestead is long,...More

This is one of my favorite local places to take a hike - there are lots of different trails with interesting things to see. I love that they've started keeping animals at the farm that seem well-taken care of. We've also been to the maple...More

The leaves seem to all turn yellow at once in the fall and it is such a beautiful canopy. The terrain is fun for the kids even though it is steep in places. Interesting old buildings and there are Pokemon.

Good paths and signage. Not too challenging but nice and long. Interesting variety of wooded paths and historical settlement sites, plus live chickens!

This is part of the National Park Service (Indiana Dunes Lakeshore). There is a large parking lot that leads you to a trail directional sign. You can visit the Homestead to the left or the Farm to the right - both trails terminate at those...More

We already covered this in our review of the Indiana dunes national Lakeshore, because it’s part of the National Park Service location. We did the 2.1 mile trail loop to see both places; we love architecture and history so we loved it! We wish we...More

We stopped here to see the Bailly Homestead -- and see what life was like "back in the day". I don't know if the hous/buildings are ever open for tours, but it was still nice to walk the trails and see the old buildings and...More
