During our recent visit to the UW campus we talk many a walk along the lake in this beautiful nature preserve. The views were fantastic. Being a nature preserve, bugs can be something of a bother, particularly this year which seems to have produced a...More

This well maintained set of paths lets you walk along the lake's edge and enjoy many views. There are fire pits along the way that you can reserve -- a lovely way to spend an afternoon.

Amazing path to run on by yourself, with friends, or whomever. You get the amazing lake views of lake Mendota as you run as well as a peaceful woodsy path with benches spread it. It's a staple in many girls' routines for running

This easy trail, mostly gravel and packed dirt, is a combination of shady forest glens, scenic shoreline, small sandy beaches, and a scenic overlook at the end of the peninsula. The view of the Madison skyline and Capital is not to be missed.

We spent about an hour taking this lakeside walk just steps from the Student Union. It is a level path and both sunny and shady. We enjoyed the peace and quiet just steps from the bustling campus. We walked farther than we realized and found...More
