A true "gem" of an urban park.

This park, about 40 or 50 acres in area, with winding lagoons and classic stone bridges, offers areas for walking, picnicking, playing ball and, in the winter, a full ice skating opportunity, complete with a warming house and skate rentals. Historically, this land is said to have been a gift to the city by a wealthy businessman many years ago.... More

We enjoy going to Tenney Park for the ice skating in the winter. They have a warming house for renting skates and...warming. But we bring our own skates. Parking can be tough on good winter days. Great opportunities for skating pics. The kids have fun skating the "lake!"

Lots of water sports readily available. The lake is big enough for lots of water sports. Wind sailing and kite sailer were both prevalent. There is lots of green space for seating, picnics, frisbee, etc. There is a small beach for swimming and lots of parking.

In winter, Tenney Park is hands-down the best place to go ice-skating, whether for a family outing, a romantic date, or pickup hockey with pals. The winding lagoons and pretty arching bridges provide natural divisions for different kinds of skating and hockey and are complemented by a recently modernized warming house with skate rentals and concessions. Ducks congregate in the... More

What's better then a free beach on a sunny day. Nice beach house with showers, beach area has nice sandy play area, swimming area is also nice and sandy. Lifeguards on duty keeping everyone safe. Bike path runs along beach area, sand volleyball, playground, shade areas to get a break from the sun, and boats can anchor outside swimming area.... More

Beautiful green space on the east side of Madison. It's a great spot to watch the sunset, picnic, or relax in the shade.

Have visited Tenney Park for the past 20 years....the shelter house has been remodeled and is much cleaner and nicer now. We go to the lagoon there ice skating in the winter and the park in the summer.

Good small park and beach, the sand on the beach seems to be mixed with dirt. Don't know when the sand was last groomed? Beach as small as a front yard, bout 60 ft across. One plus is that it does have a lifeguard. Looks like the water gets to about 4 ft deep. Around the corner is the dam... More
