We went to the farmers market around the square on Saturday morning and it was great to see all of the local farmers and stalls as we walked around the Capitol. It is a beautiful building and worth a walk around.

Almost as iconic as the US Capitol, this is the kind of architecture that endures, but will likely not ever be duplicated. The "Square" is the governmental/cultural/business hub of a great city. Situated on a high point between Lakes Mendota and Monona, you do not want to miss it.

This is such an exemplary example of a State Capitol. It is located at one end of a straight street, State Street, that connects directly down to the University of Wisconsin Campus, located on the other end. We spent time walking the four corners of the square one sunny morning. It was near the lunch hour. People were having lunch... More

We love coming to Madison to visit our son. It's a great city. Since he lives near State Street, we spend a lot of time walking around. We always go up to the Capitol. Today we enjoyed walking around the inside and outside. It's such a beautiful building. So many interesting entries. We caught a lot of Pokémon around the... More

Capitol Square is a must-see/visit place in Madison, particularly on Saturdays during Farmer's Market season. The impressive Capitol is surrounded by beautiful lawns and a number of shops, restaurants and cafes. Nice place.

I walked around the Capitol building to take in the Square. It was winter, but they had all of the sidewalks and stairs cleared. Mostly everything was put away for the winter but it was still well maintained.

The capitol itself is a work of art. Wonderful views of the isthmus and lakes. Summer time is amazing with the best farmers' market in Wisconsin. Holidays are special with a huge tree in the rotunda.

Walked by and around it. Very beautiful setting and view from any of the streets leading up to it. Lots of picture opportunities with it's setting.

It is almost impossible don t see this monument. It is cited in downtown and a square surrounds it. Good to walk and used as reference when you are lost.

I have been several times in Madison, WI, but never made it to the Capitol Square. The Capitol building is really something to see ... a MUST. Unfortunately, I didn't have the time to visit the inside of the Capitol. Will sure do next time when in Madison!!
