I have not been to the school for many years and was invited to a wedding in Madison and looked forward to coming back. The campus is stunning (although there is some construction at the moment) along the lake and was greatly expanded from what I remembered. Easy parking in public/university lots. We walked around and had our rehearsal dinner... More

I love walking on college campuses, so I definitely have a bias. It is a nice campus. It blends right into the downtown area (no real separation like you see at some schools). The buildings are nice and there is definitely a unique group of people around. It is a little tired, not as pristine as some campuses. But still... More

The University of Wisconsin at Madison is one of the most liberal institutions in the US. The University has a history of being the hub of anti-war movement against Vietnam. At the heart of Wisconsin, UoW has a very different culture as compared to its surroundings, you will see more liberal and forward looking people here.

It was a convenient stop along the way from Minnesota to Chicago, so figured I would stop and try some of the ice cream and take a break along the lake with my family. After 20 minutes of circling around trying to find a parking spot I gave up and continued on my way. Lots of construction taking place near... More

Was this town or university ever attractive or is it years of leftwing government and academics that have dragged this lakefront town into a third rate city? Maybe the intellectual professors are too busy riding their bicycles around in-the-nude to notice that their school’s campus is dirty and dull? We traveled to the town in hopes of finding what should... More

Spent the last two days on campus, which is a lovely, comfortable place. The refurbished Union South is really a huge upgrade and great space, and they serve great beer! Campus location near the water is really gorgeous. People are very friendly and helpful.

We traveled to Madison and the University to see what our daughter was doing in her research center on campus. The campus is absolutely beautiful and the oldest and largest public college. UW as it is called sits right between the isthmus of Lake Mendota & Lake Monona. We stayed on the eastern side of the city and had such... More
