Olbrich Gardens is open year around and the tropical dome is a winter getaway for cabin fever done January wisconsin winters. The outside gardens have many winding bricked walkways, fountains, quite pond, river and shaded areas. There a Thai Pavilion built in Thailand and assembled here as a gift from the King of Thailand and Madison's UW Thai students as... More

This was so great. The weather was so hot but we did as much as we could. The Butterfly room was very interesting (There is a charge). There are lots of different paths to follow and if the Thai garden is open (no private party)check it out.

The gardens are wonderful in the spring, summer and fall, with winding walkways and quiet places to sit. In the winter, there's a great indoor tropical garden. (Well, it's there all year but it's especially nice to visit during a Wisconsin winter. And don't miss the Thai Pavilion, which was a gift from the King of Thailand as a thank... More

The inside stuff is neat, the butterfly exhibit is interesting. The volunteers are very friendly and willing to explain the various plants and this time of year, butterflies. The temple at the back is very neat. For the price, it's worth the visit and it's right off the bike path so you can bike or drive

This botanical garden rivals any larger gardens that I have been to. The use of space and plant material is amazing. It truly is a highlight that must be seen in Madison. A place you will never tire of and will continually be changing with the seasons.

A really impressive garden outdoors and perfectly lovely greenhouse inside. Cute little gift shop, although I'd like to see more emphasis put on environmentally sustainable gifts as well as native plants and why they are important to the ecosystem.

Has changed over the years but always a fun and interesting location for a garden walk with all of the flowers. The indoor area with butterflies is very cool as well.

The Olbrich Botanical Gardens is a serene and beautiful place. The outdoor areas are free but there is a nominal charge for the indoor exhibit. The outdoor areas are great for strolling alone or with a loved one. There are a number of places to sit and read or reflect. The inside exhibit displays many types of foliage especially tropical.... Beautiful venue for a wedding. Parking was difficult as this is also open to the public. I wish I had more time to explorer the gardens.

My wife loves gardening and plants. Therefore I included this spot in the plans for our trip to Madison. It is beautiful and the Thai pavillion is stunning
