    Fantastic journey
Oh my, what a great find. Indoors and outdoors. Interactive for all age groups and wonderful Digital Dome Show. The outdoor trail is a discovery trail of the dinosaur age. Well done! Inexpensive admission and show fee. Definitely go!

    Beautiful on a rainy day
We love the Mid America Science museum. We returned after 5 years and enjoyed the museum on a rainy day. The architecture is absolutely beautiful and the rain and bright green trees made it that much more enjoyable. 12 and 10 year old had a blast. Probably enjoyed it more than when they were 7 and 5!

Great for kids, beware the cave for kids with sensory issues!
mostly geared for younger kids, my 6 year old granddaughter loved it, the hands on activities are great. Just beware that the cave maze isn’t appropriate for highly sensitive kids, my granddaughter was traumatized, it was pitch dark, my daughter had to go in to accompany her through. She couldn’t get turned around to come out it was such a madhouse. Would be nice if they had a map of the museum posted in the building. We spent 2 1/2 hours there and could have stayed longer. Would be nice if a warning for kids with sensory issues was posted on the cave! Overall it was good though, worth the money for kids, not so much for adults, since all we were really doing was supervising the 6 year old.

Visited with my husband and boys ages 7, 11, and 12. A few exhibits were closed due to COVID-19 but they still had a great time. Staff very pleasant. One lady who worked there went above and beyond to interact and help visitors. Not sure what her name is but she is a young lady with long light brown hair. She is definitely an asset to this business! I highly recommend visiting.

We arrived at 4pm, with a group of 10. We were greeted with "You know the museum closes at 5 right?" very sarcastically. After we ran through the museum barely experiencing the exhibits, we tried to go to the gift shop to purchase a souvenir. We were "We are closed." and told to exit. We were not even allowed to look around the gift shop and purchase anything.
If your museum closes at a specific time and you know the museum takes a certain amount of time to go through then stop taking admissions at a certain time. Also, the gift should be open for the purchasing of items 15-30 minutes after the museum itself so patrons can purchase items.
Really only needed the 45 minutes to go through the museum anyway, but not worth the $13.

We had a good two hour visit here with multiple families that included teens, tweens and younger kids. Everyone had fun and were entertained. The facility and all displays were clean and nicely maintained. Surprisingly low prices. Great rainy day option for a couple hours of entertainment.

We had relatives in town and they were interested in an activity. My daughter has been several times but she was happy to make another trip with her cousins. Although the activities are geared towards smaller children, there are interesting things to learn for all ages.

Being an indoor activity, you can escape the heat, cold, and rain to entertain a small or large group.

My 17-year-old son and I went. Pricewise it’s a good value - only $10 plus tax each. However it is really geared towards smaller children. I wish they had more things of interest for teens and adults. They had a special exhibit going on where you could draw and play with clay that’s where we spent the most of our time. We are in and out in two hours. It was a decent place to get out of the heat for a couple hours.

I think we were the only grown-ups here without children! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, but didn't spend nearly the amount of time as we would/could have had we been with youngsters. Such a wonderful place to learn by doing. We were disappointed that the snack bar & skyway were closed, but we enjoyed the beauty of the grounds & the adventure that is the museum itself.

We had a rainy day and wanted something to do that wasn't outdoors. Found this with a quick internet search and are thrilled we did. We had a whole lot of fun with all the interesting exhibits. Not only did our teen (home educated) kids have fun but so did we parents. The museum is big enough to spend at least 3 hours at (we were much closer to 4) but small enough to not be overwhelmed by size and scope. It gave us time to really play with the exhibits and all. One highlight was the 'underground' space where you crawl, use rope ladders, dark slides, etc. to explore underground AR. Tthe biggest highlight was the Tesla show. It was extra and WELL worth it. Where else would you get to see the world's largest Tesla coil go off? Awesome!!!

We stopped by not expecting much from this museum and were very pleasantly surprised to find what felt like a hidden gem of a museum. It has a lot of interactive exhibits and the outdoor boardwalk was beautiful. Overall 10/10. Quick tip: I was surprised to find they are a Smithsonian affiliate museum. All our entries were covered with it.

While a bit out of the way, this is a really fantastic spot. The Dinotrek is an excellent stroll and great for photos of you with your favorite dinosaur. The experiences within the museum are fun to do as an adult and fun to watch kiddos try to do them.

This is a really neat place. Almost totally interactive exhibits but not just for kids only like a children’s museum. We had a blast here. The Tesla Show is quite interesting. The Dome Theater was closed so can’t comment on that. The grounds are beautiful. Definitely put it on your list.
