- ddarcheHouston, Texas151 contributionsThis is a fun show with magic and music (mostly Elton John). He bravely takes members of the audience on stage with can be pretty entertaining. The magic is not Las Vegas quality, but it is fun and done well. He also had a guest magician and a fire breather/dancer come on stage for part of the show.Visited March 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten March 24, 2024
- JeffMemphis, Tennessee3 contributionsWe had a very good time. Didn’t know what to expect and was very pleased. The audience was only half full so this worried us at first. Once the show started we were very surprised. This is a Vegas type show. The magic was great. Max made the show with the audience. He invited some of the children from the audience to come on stage. That was very cool the way he interacted with them. Well worth goingVisited March 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten March 27, 2024
- Shoshana S2 contributionsMaxwell Blade does a great show - we got tickets on the front row for more interaction. I recommend adding this to your list of things to do when in Hot Springs. Show is at 8 …. Get some dinner and then catch his show. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because I paid for backstage access and thought it would be a little extra magic, but Maxwell had to leave to pick up someone from the airport so we were passed off to another staff member to give us a tour of the theatre. Interesting, but not what I was expecting. My 9 yo son was disappointed as we have done backstage or VIP with magicians before and it was truly a value added experience.Visited July 2024Traveled with familyWritten July 7, 2024
- dlbledsoe3 contributionsA terrific illusionist show! Exciting acts and fun for all ages! A must see in Hot Springs. Very affordable. Variety of acts including magic, music, illusions, fire twirling and flying acropatics. Highly recommend! Don’t miss!Visited March 2024Traveled with friendsWritten April 1, 2024
- steve bHot Springs Village, Arkansas51 contributionsWe took our 13 and 9 year old grandkids to Jonathan Erlandson's show and it was fantastic. We all enjoyed it. Not only is he an amazing magician but he also shared some inspiring messages. He is a real class act.Visited July 2024Traveled with familyWritten July 13, 2024
- Michael Kergosien3 contributionsMy family and I have been MANY times, and each time was amazing! When there, I pay close attention in an attempt to figure out the tricks. To date, I've been unsuccessful! When we travel to Hot Springs, we never miss a show! Blade Maxwell is also hilarious! He adds wonderful comedic talent to the performance.Visited April 2024Traveled with familyWritten April 21, 2024

WOW! From the ease of ordering tickets online & picking seats to maneuvering the concessions and line into the theatre. Everything was so easy and every staff member we encountered were very helpful. Our family of 4 (husband, myself and two boys ages 13 & 10) love the show! I love that he threw in some music…a little Elton John won me over immediately!
Things to know:
• show up at least 30 min early so that you have plenty of time to grab concessions, beer, hit the bathroom and find your seat. (Note: there are more bathrooms upstairs so don’t get hung up in a line like me 😆)
• when picking seats, aim for the first 4 rows in the middle. Lots of cards and show swag were thrown from the stage. We were row D in the middle and one of my boys caught a poster.
• the intermission is close to the end of the show. So make sure you and the kiddos go to the bathroom right before the show starts
• backstage passes are available for $20 and half of the proceeds (or more, I can’t quite remember) are donated to a local charity. You can get photo ops with the show team.
• don’t leave without the magic kit! It’s $30 and my boys have been learning tricks since we left.
• Maxwell Blade encourages photos! So get our your phones and snap away

Below average entertainment. Show began 20 minutes late ; intermission lasted over 20 minutes as Maxwell told us 10 minutes. Dull show that was not worth the money. Very short performance that included him singing 3 Elton John songs. My 3 grand children were thoroughly bored. I wouldn’t go again and suggest the same for others.

By far one of the best shows I've ever seen. Maxwell is very interactive with the audience and if you're in the first few rows you'll get a ton of takeaways, which was awesome. His singing and piano skills are also AWESOME. I highly recommend. I almost never do reviews because I have to be blown away to take the time to write one. 👍👍

Our second time visiting Maxwell Blade’s Theater. He is family oriented and lots of fun. He and his crew deliver a night of laughter and is well worth the price of admission. He incorporates kids and adults into the show with comedy music and magic.

Very disappointed. He used tricks that looked like a new 10 year old was learning. He dropped balls and missed things. His music was WAY to loud and annoying. The only saving grace was that he was very spiritual/inspirational in lines he threw out to the audience. LOVED seeing Rokas (the Mentalist) visit the show!!

Maxwell Blade put on a really fun show. Everyone really enjoyed it and they involve several people from the audience. Music, magic, and other fun tricks. Special shout out to Jonathan Erlandson - he performed some awesome magic too! You really should go see this when you’re in town.

Maxwell Blade gives a very entertaining performance. He has a fascinating show of illusion, comedy, audience participation, and he is a talented pianist and singer. We also enjoyed his personal story about how he went through tough times and prayer changed things for him. It was inspiring. I highly recommend the show.

This would be fine for party’s and the young kids did seem to like it. The show is tired and nothing I have not seen before for free. He could have done it in 20 minutes but dragged it out for 1-1/2 hours. Also, his performance was void of any entertaining personality. Not funny, witty, clever, mysterious, just plain boring. I was a wast of money and time for us, his whole act needs a refresher and update. Many people left during the intermission. This should be marketed as a children’s/family show and done as a matinee for way less money.

The show was entertaining. I especially appreciated his testimony at the end of the show telling the audience about his life experience. I wish he would have talked just a bit slower during that part. We left with a very good feeling about helping this man continue to share his gift of magic with others.

The theater is not state of the art. It could use updating. The act was very entertaining and fun but geared to small children. It would not play well in Vegas. While I had a good time I would not repeat the stop and I am ambivalent about recommending it

Is the magic "scary?" I want to bring my 7 year old but I would also have to bring his 5 year old brother who frightens easily. Thanks in advance!

What will be playing Aug. 3 - 5? What are the admission prices?
Written May 29, 2019
It's a magic and illusion show. It's always the same show. It last and hour and half. He'll also sing two Elton John songs. He also has audience participation. Admission was $24.50 adults and $18.50 kids. You'll have to call for tickets, no way to purchase online. Do not buy tickets to his Curiosity exhibit. They'll say it like Ripleys believe it or not! It's awful.

How long before the show should we arrive for good seats? The site says an hour, but I'm seeing that it fills up very quickly.
Written June 5, 2017
An hour is best. After you get your seats you can leave something to hold your chair if you wanna order from concessions, use restrooms or just look around.
Written June 5, 2017
What days is it on, what is the entrance fee and can you book?
Any help would be greatly appreciated !!

Maxwell usually has all shows on Fridays and Saturdays. He does have a website for reservations, but you can buy tickets at the door one hour before show time. Tickets run about $20.00 for adults and $15.50 for kids. You will love the show!
