We stopped by the visitor's center and were lucky that the tour was about to begin. We joined and spent an hour listening about the history of the spa facilities from 19th century to present day. Our ranger was very knowledgeable and able to answer all the questions asked. One gets to see interesting equipment and learn about treatments that... More

The Welcome Center is the best start to your day or half day in Hot Springs. The building is lovely and the displays informative. A glimpse back in time. If you're an engineer or like mechanical things, be certain to go down stairs and see the Otis elevator mechanism and the boiler room. You can go quickly or spend time... More

Initially, we ducked into the Fordyce Bathhouse in the hopes of getting out of the cold for a little while and getting some information about the baths in Hot Springs. What we found was a fascinating free self-guided tour, showing visitors exactly what the baths used to look like when in use during their heyday. We loved this nice surprise... More

We didn't have much time to tour this place, but we were able to see just about everything on our own. It would have been nice to get a tour though. It's a real timepiece for the rich. I was amazed at the futuristic thinking of the place by providing physical therapy and health aides. It was a beautiful place... More

This was one of my favorite stops in downtown Hot Springs. An amazing blast from the past is what you'll get here as you meander through the rooms where patrons once came seeking relief from their ailments. During the late 1800's, thousands of people flocked to Hot Springs believing the springs offered healing powers. Be sure to include this stop... More

The staff is so friendly and the bathhouse was full of information and contains all the elements that would have been there when built. On the lower level there is a place dugout so that you can see where the spring comes up from the ground. Outside their fountains fed from the spring water. It was a cool day so... More

No stop in Hot Springs is complete without touring the Bathhouse! It is a fascinating part of Hot Springs history (and our nation's medical history), and the set-up and signs are very well done. We did a self-guided tour, and while they do offer guided tours (twice on the day we were there), it was easy to quickly read, see... More

My family and I enjoyed looking around this old bath house. Interesting to see what people used to do at this bath house. Hot Springs is very touristy.

Got a lot of insight on bathhouses and the history behind it. We were able to see what the customers experienced and what the bathhouse offered, i.e., suites, gym and lodge

The Fordyce gives an interesting view of the spa in the age of medicine. The sanitary baths and massage rooms were high tech for the day. Our favorite room was the gymnasium which looked like it was from a Bugs Bunny cartoon.
