We took the waterfall hike and it was beautiful! Lots of little streams to put our feet in, a beautiful scenic overview and the reward of the waterfall were wonderful. However, "easy" is not a word I'd use to describe the hike! There is a back way they told us about in the visitors center that is about 1/2 mile... More

My husband & I were doing the waterfall & hiking tour. Lake Catherine was a great hiking spot besides the waterfall.

We went in July, and the waterfall was not even close to one. There was a thin stream of water running, and there was too many people in the water to the point that it was all dirty. We hiked/walked for about 1-2 miles to get to the waterfall, and at the end we learned that by following the edge... More

I truly love to go to the waterfall! The hike is a lot of fun and absolutely beautiful!!! It's a pretty long hike but you can go in the back way too if you are pressed for time or not feeling as adventuresome.

We went hiking today on the red trail. Nice walk about 2 miles, the waterfall on the trail, nope, no water! The dogs loved the hike. Nice no day fee park, look like we will rent a boat next week and cruse the lake!

Perhaps this is something I should be asking mother nature. The falls we saw were "literally" a trickle. I am not aware of drought conditions recently, but perhaps this is the case. We hiked 0.5 mile for a buzz kill of a discovery. Hike was nice...but....where's the waterfall in the pictures!

30 yr old couple did the 2 mile loop. This is a great hike but while it is not strenuous, there are parts that are very steep, especially if you are a short person like myself (5'3). There are a few benches along the way for you to stop and take a rest/catch your breath on. Depending on which way... More

We were looking for a site for our Class A RV and found that not all Arkansas parks allow them. We decided to visit Lake Catherine State Park for that reason and enjoyed 4 nights there with our kids and grandkids. The staff could not have been nicer and more helpful. The beach was nice during the week when not... More

Our family enjoyed swimming at the open beach on the lake. There is a restroom/changing room and outside showers. There is also a visitor/tourist store next to the beach. The ranger at the visitor center was very helpful in showing me on a map where the Falls were located. Even told me the shortest trail to the Falls, at the... More

We took the Falls Branch Trail to the falls. We made a mistake when we started out by not going to the left and wound up doing the whole trail with my 3 year old. He made it ok even though the ground is a bit uneven and steep at times. The pay off was huge, as the falls were... More
