The focus is squarely on Chillicothe's role in Ohio and U.S. history. The docent-led tour starts in a Victorian living room, then moves on to a more chronological sequence. (Having a docent for every visitor was a surprise. Ours was knowledgeable and entertaining.) Gun buffs...More

Unless you happen to have living family or business there, it seems to me that interest in Ohio history is the main reason to visit Chillicothe. The varied exhibits at RCHS span prehistoric and historic times and there is plenty to soak in at your...More

I especially liked the Probate Archives behind the house (it used to be the historical jail). The archivist was extremely helpful with genealogical information.

Our family enjoyed this museum visit. With a 15 year old and a 7 year old nobody got bored. Our tour guide was excellent and they have a great variety of exhibits and artifacts to make sure everyone had something to see.
