A wonderful little shop! Really loved the idea of this so we had to stop by. They sell chutneys, jams, marmalades, chili paste and even tomato sauce! Each item costs about 300 rupees which isn’t bad and at the same time you support the sisters. Haven’t had a chance to taste our purchase yet but we were assured they’re tasty!

By the way; the location is totally off on TripAdvisor map. The place is right behind the St. Xavier church - better check it on google maps.

Run by nunnery this place sells Jams (strawberry is very nice), sauces, chutneys etc. Almost like it’s home made and some unusual stuff as well (cuttlefish fry, pear syrup). Well worth to stock up if you are in Nuwaraeliya.

We visited the place recently while we were looking for places to visit using the TripAdvisor. There were plenty of quality and reasonably priced products..all HAND MADE and mostly HAND PICKED. You may see the strawberries in the yard of the convent. We found more healthier choices including Garlic Sauce, Garlic Pickle and Ayurvedic Karapincha (Curry Leaves) Powder which was delicious.

Highly recommended visit

What a great little spot tucked away in Long Street behind the church and run by the Franciscan community. There's a good range of jams made from local fruits and chutneys and pickles. A great spot to buy a couple of jars of preserves to take home with you. Importantly, it's all in a good cause.

The 'Jamerry', run by the Fransiscan nuns is a must stop for taking back some goodies to friends and family after your visit to this hill station. The Strawberry Jam is superb. Its all made in-house. Not just the jams but some unique wines too - ginger, beetroot, strawberry, paddy and ... but also pickles and chutneys. Good value for money too. It shuts by 5.30pm.

The Jams, Jellies, Cordials & Chutnies made by the Nuns are of a very good standard. They have maintained the standard almost for ever.
Such a variety of unusual & good quality stuff.
The young lady who was at the shop was very active &helpful & packed our stuff well to transport it to Colombo.
The good news is that these Jams etc are now available at St .Anthonies Church in Borella.
