We visited the tea factory (used to be Macwood; now Damro) on 05Oct2018. When we planned our trip to Sri Lanka, we had such a high expectation for the tea plantation, and especially Macwood Tea Factory (Damro). It’s essentially why we came to Sri Lanka....More

Out of all the tea factories we visited in Nuwara eliya, this was the only one that actually looked like it was working. The tour itself is short, guides basically reciting what needed to be said about general tea making, but we stopped her a...More

The DAMRO tea factory is ... well I don't know: you enter, get an incredble short tour (no cost ) nothing interesting, guide was constantly looking to other groups, his cell phone etc. Than you can drink a free tea and go to the shop....More

I had to visited here several times with my friends and family. That times we had good experience. But now this place is not fine. Can't recommend here now. Some workers aren't friendly and helpless. Huge disappointed.

We were whisked through a fast scripted tour of the factory. The only consolation is the free cup of tea at the end. More of a tourist trap and probably pays commission to the driver/guide if you buy some products there.

I can only review based on my own visit but I found this stop to be worthless. The "tea factory" wasn't working and didn't look like it would be very interesting if it were working. (We visited a tea factory in India in 2013 which...More

The free cup of tea would be the only reason to go there.... (and note that you will enjoy it surrounded by crowds of chinese tourists). Do not expect anything out of the 5minutes factory tour giving you general facts about tea making. The guide...More

First of all the "Macwood Tea Garden already change their name and logo. Now their name is "Damro Tea". As before we visited the "Bluefield tea garden", so we did not enter their factory. But their external and internal environment was far better than the...More
