A group of us, mixed kiwi and Sri Lankan families visited. Kids had great fun with the assorted boat rides although a bit pricey. Had food from the local stalls which was good. Probably helped having locals to do the talking for us. Overall a...More

This is a decent-sized natural lake. There are lots of options for hiring a boat and puttering around it, or riding a pedalo boat. It was quiet when we were there but I imagine it's pretty busy during peak season.

Walked along this lake, have some great views of Nuwara Eliya. Could be better maintained with activities like kayaking rather than motor boats..

The lake is nice but nothing really special. There is a park around which is nice to walk through. There are some small boats but I don't recommend you to take it.

You have several water spots available in Gregory Lake. Children have a separate play area as well. very relaxing in the evening with lot of mist and cold.

Refreshing place, good to spend few hours on the lake and have a trip on a boat cost around 3000 rs, then have pizza on salmiya which is very near to lake.

We spent an hour or so walking some of the perimeter past numerous speed boats, jet ski and others. A bit overpriced for a speed boat ride and not too many were taking the option. It is pleasant enough to walk and observe the water...More

simple lake, maybe takes 2 hours to slowly walk around it, with local food and trinket cart trucks, and you have to pay a small fee at two different locations. If you get bored, skip the lake and walk up the hills into the tea...More

We spend about 40 minutes and walked round the lake. There were boats for hire and also a helicopter ride for about 10 minutes. Very pleasant.

Didn't see anyone swimming. I guess the water itself is not that suitable for swimming, but for a boat trip around is good. You can do water biking.

Looks fine. Beware that the whalewatch starts 7 AM hence D5 is not really doable, you'd do the whalewatch morming of D6. <Erik> & [Sandya]

Hi there, Maybe possible in Fantasialand or the like but totally impossible in reality ;-). Driving speeds are 30-40 km/h long distance in Lanka, and each of the attractions you pick costs half a day at least to see it. Also you mix up Eliya and Kasndy, and assume a 1st class service on Bentota-Colombo which does not exist. So where to begin... Pick TWO bases only for those 3 nights 4 days and then center the plan around it. E.g. Kandy and Bentota (each 3 hours from airport) or Sigiriya...More

Hi there, 1] Adam's Peak (not to be confused with Little Adam's Peak) is not near Ella but between Kandy and Eliya. 2] A scenic train ride is almost a must, e.g. from Ohiya to Ella (D5). Could visit Littlle Adam's Peak later in afternoon if weather is clear. See https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g29396… for all options near beach... <Erik> & [Sandya]
