One of the very picturesque places in Nuwara eliya. The place is very peaceful and does not attract much tourists. You can enjoy ponney ride here and get a good view of the mountains nearby. A good place to spend a couple of hours.

Our 1st time watching the races live. Was exciting. Apparently another big race happening on 15th April if anyone is interested

I had a Great Day in VIP Lounge. 31st March 2019 Races. met Brazil's Ambassador to Ceylon. This is a must for Race Goers Bucket List. Melbourne Cup, Birdsville Cup, Darwin Cup, Townsville Cup, Cairns Cup, Japan Cup Townsville Cup, Werribee Cup - NOW Nuwara Eliya CUP - Kangaroo Chris

I am not sure, wether this is the right place for writing a comment.
In front of the Royal Turf Club you can get some horse riding. It’s a real rip off, the course is shorter than they tell. And they are charging much more than agreed to make some money on their own, which they are not passing to the owner. Coincidentally we met the owner and there was a big argue about it. All in all it’s not a good experience.

I would prefer if we could get to ride Horses based on a package( 3 different rates and roots) and guides to accompany too. As I never want to ride ponies, and other half breeds... I know as this was soon after there racing season and they could be high on certain vitamins :) you know what I mean... Hopefully looking forward to doing this next time ...

BIt was off season as rainy season approaching, the guide , who is on duty was explaining us all the activities of the club and various historical buildings withing the club. We had horse riding in one of the best Rajastani horse - white and brown.

Not sure if this is the right place to review but my whole fammily had a horse riding session near the turf club. Bargaining is the name of the game ! Please don't agree to the prices they say. Whatever they can be negotiated.

A break in the rainy day allowed us to call the Royal Turf Club wh0 opened the Club especially for us to see 2 race horses and to provide a pony ride/lesson for our granddaughter. Very nice friendly and hospitable.
