Pakudui, also known as Garuda Village, is where all the Garuda carvings found in galleries and shopping centers around Ubud are crafted. If you're interested in the craftsmanship and the people who create some of the most exquisite work of this type, spend some time here.
Personally, after visiting *every single workshop* here, the one I would recommend above all is the workshop of I Made Ada. The quality is exquisite and the variety of work is amazing. It's possibly the only place where you can still find work made from single pieces of material -- not ideal for carrying home in your suitcase but quality collector's items in every other respect. Speaking of respect, in this day and age of instant gratification make sure that you take the time to bargain and honor an age-old custom. The folks here will surely appreciate it.
