    Not good for children
We visited this place after a local recommended it for our kids to try the zipline. It is not a family destination! Almost all the visitors were newlyweds taking photos on swings for Instagram/albums/etc. The zipline was woeful and expensive. Pretty location, but not worth it for families.

Over priced instagram theme park - terrible experience
Our driver brought us here when we asked to see the rice terraces (another story!), and it was honestly a horrible experience... From the road they have a huge wall around the place so you cant see what it's like until you've paid to go in. At entry they confiscate all of your food and drink (including water bottles) with the excuse its for the environment, but as soon as you see inside its obvious they just want you to have to buy their own (and you'll need it with the heat and all the stairs!). The whole place is full of very steep stairs going between different restaurants and bars, swings, or dress rental places all of which are very overpriced. it is full of different 'photo sets' like swings, loungers, a fake bridge etc with a few fake rice terraces in the background and all cleverly angled so you cant see how overcrowded everything is. Basically, come here if you want to line up in a crowd and pay a lot of money to get a few cute pictures for instagram, but not actually experience anything genuine about Bali. DEFINITELY don't recommend for families with small children, it's really unsafe.

Too focused on commercial novelty ‘tat’ attractions like swings, not enough on the beautiful setting.
The rice terraces es themselves are gorgeous. Some of the statues and art and the shrine are also lovely however, for me these were somewhat ruined by the focus on tacky novelty aspects like zip wires and suspended bicycles and swings. There are a number of the swings so it feels like more of a theme park than a wonderful piece of nature. One swing would be fine, but I think there were three or four (and then the other stuff too) which felt a bit much. The staff were sis a bit over bearing when walking around etc. also you should note they won’t let you take food and drink in, not even a bottle of water. So be careful going in when it is hot. I got dehydrated and felt unwell by the end (lots of steps). I suspect this is to make you buy drinks in the cafe etc., again to much focus on commercial novelty.

    Bad experiences
Bad experience bcs of discrimination for local people, i stay long time in USA almost 5 years but i never see any discrimination like what i had at alas harum yesterday. Just because we are local they showed us attitudes like we couldn’t pay for minimum spend of the places. Nd finally we spend double, Fyi “Please don’t discriminate people by the looks, you guys have to be nice with everyone although they’re local or foreigners!! Thanks
Warmest Greetings from Cretya Ubud After we do the investigation regarding your feedback, we found that upon your arrival our pool seating was already full, and not opened yet for a second seating for that moment. It’s a pleasure if you share your experience while you were still with us so we were able to provide your request and make your visit even more enjoyable! It’s the sharing of feedback which helps us improve day by day, that’s why we always try to communicate also in personal conversations with our guests to check if everything is according to their wishes, as guest satisfaction is our number one priority We hope that your experience will not deter you to return stay with us and we would like to thank you again for your feedback to make us better in the future Warmest Regards, Alas Harum Bali

Skip this spot (also, RECYCLE YOUR BRACELETS)
If you want a Disney world type experience, go here. It was over the top and wish we had skipped it because just down the road there are as beautiful, if not better, restaurant/pool/swing places (like Tis!) Also, you had to pay to get in, leave all your water and snacks behind so that you pay high prices for their water, food, coffee. I didn’t give it a one-star because we did have a very nice man explain coffee production to us. Oh- I forgot, they have these fancy wristband things that when you’re done, they THROW OUT! Why the heck wouldn’t you re-use them?!?
Dear susieb882, Greetings from Alas Harum Bali Thank you for taking your valuable time to write about us after your recent visit. Responding to your feedback, It’s a pleasure if you ensure further information and the regulation about your destination prior to arrival and make your visit even more enjoyable! 🚫 WARNING CHOKING HAZARD 🚫
Our daughter almost choked from poor safety procedures in the “Flying Fox” zip line. One of her harnesses were connected to the wrong wire. Staff and management apologized, but was most concerned about advising us about their no refund policy…

    Skip this place
Skip this place if you truly want to learn and appreciate rice fields in Bali. There are so many other spots in Ubud that offer more authentic, genuine experience to learn about the culture. There’s nothing cultural about this place at all. It is all made up and built for Instagram. It is also designed to make you spend more every few steps you take. For example, taking away all the guests’ water bottles at the “security checks” before entrance. There are many steps, and some steep, inside as you walk around the rice field. They took away the water so you can spend inside at the multiple cafes especially after walking in the Bali sun and heat. I’m all for and understand businesses need a profit, but how this place is designed simply make me cringe and uncomfortable. As this place is built for photo-taking, you do encounter lots of content creators/“influencers” in there. Which also means they will take A LOT of photos at one spot and spent A LOT of time at one spot. This could result to a longer waiting time (to even to cross a “bridge”). I applaud they have done up the place nicely but it is really a disappointing place with too much commercialisation and lost all its originality and culture.
Dear Zoe L, Greetings from Alas Harum Bali We are delighted to inform that besides the rice terrace we have other venues such as restaurants, explanation tour of the Luwak coffee, coffee shops, and an infinity pool bar. Please be advised every place has its own specialty landmark and uniqueness. Our rice terrace is beautifully designed with tunnels, bridges, caves, spot photos, as well as rides and attractions. It’s a pleasure if you ensure further information prior to arrival and make your visit even more enjoyable! Thank you for sharing and have a good day ahead! Kindest regards, Alas Harum Bali

We have visited this place yesterday 28 October 2020 as I saw an offer in their Instagram. Disappointed with the local promotion. Even they shared in social media. But you will be directed to the normal offer. Pay for 100K + tax and additionally, you will need to pay normal if you want to have a meal in the restaurant. Broken promise, as they should offer the customer on the ongoing offer as stated in the social media. At some point, their staff will also calmly approach you to buy another 100K ++ voucher with a free meal, which you only can use it on your next visit (as this offer is considering for local). My suggestion, If you want to help Bali recovery from this pandemic suffer, please stop doing this way...We all need money. But as Balinese (I am Balinese too and I am also a hotelier) we should really help our industry to gain more trust from all aspects. And please be honest in order to deliver what is your promise to customers, especially when it has shared on public information and social media channels..... Other than that, this place is clean, has a nice view and location. The new normal protocol is in place, which is a great point.

As stated in some comments below, this place is a tourist trap. Or good if you are only interested in taking instagram photos. We had a similar experience as someone below stated, where we asked our driver to take us to Tegalalang Rice Terrace, and he tricked us into coming here. I got a little confused and it didn't seem right, but he convinced us this place was much better and nicer than Tegalalang. We walk in and are whisked into a tour of the coffee making area, aka the area where they make coffee with animal droppings, and convince you to have 'free samples' which you actually somehow end up paying for. Such a joke. We felt like idiots. The coffee isn't that good anyways. Then after you pay for the coffee and samples, you are allowed to go down into the "rice fields". You are stopped and have to pay to get in there. I almost walked out then and there, because I was under the impression that after you pay for the free coffee samples, you get access to the terrace but I guess not. I should have left, but gave it a shot. Once we got in I realized this was the instagram/Disney version of a rice field. I don't even think they grow anything here, just a small, pretty, but man-made field to look at and take pictures. Totally dissapointed as I was expecting to walk through legitimate fields for a few hours. We stayed for 10 minutes and got out of there. Went 5 minutes up the road to Tegalalang which was gorgeous and a donation fee to get in. That place is dreamy, peaceful and relaxing.

The grounds of the (fun park / instagram heaven) are spectacular. Instagram is full of photos from here. The downside of that is a lot of screaming girls trying to get “The Shot”. As they do have a swing where girls line up for the flowing dress shot. It is an interesting mix of instagramers in their photo outfits cross families cross couples. Whilst it was busy, it is large enough an area that you don’t feel crowded. Worth a visit. There is also zip lining and sky biking. Plus some really cool statues carved into mountains which were super fun. Just be mindful of line ups for photo taking, be respectful and get in that line. People did try and push thru. At the front there is also a few Civets and a demonstration on their role in the famous Kopi Luwak (cat poop coffee). We did get a laugh that 90% of people walked straight past them .

Frankly the views and setting of this place deserve the entrance fee being charged so I can't complain about it. The swings though are not as extreme and the comparative fees being charged seems a little high. Other than that, the views and settings of the place are really good with lots of places to click pictures. There was a pool party going on at the infinity pool when we visited and the place looked electric. We also had lunch there and the quality of food was good and the pricing was also reasonable. The only reason I would visit this place again though would be for the infinity pool and the party.

A very picturesque place for taking social media pics. Also recommend sampling their range of tea and coffee, including luwak coffee.

Sadly, we did not have a chance to use their pools.

Need 2-3 hours to enjoy the tea and coffee, queuing for pics, swings and sky bike, and using the pools.

We really loved our morning here. Is it “real Bali”? Not really. But, for 50k rp we felt like it was completely worth it.

We walked the entire site, took some lovely photos and videos with amazing backdrops and topped it off with a dip in the tiered pool afterwards (because let’s face it, Bali is hot and this day was no exception!).

In all, we spent about 3-4h at the site, and had a blast.
