I have been to several hot springs in Bali over the years ... each one has a different charm.
If you are looking for a quiet (not so western touristy location) .. this is it!!
Beautiful & very peaceful location set in tranquil rice terraces... just a short easy walk about 200m from car park.
10,000 Rupiah (about $1AUD) .. no time limit...
You pay the local village lady .. I found her to be very friendly and helpful as was her family.
Just be mindful to take your time getting in & out as is can be a bit slippery if your not careful... I’m unsteady I on my feet & I was fine.. just took my time.
This is a natural hot spring that feeds from a small well from with in the temple to 6 different “shower type” outlets.. (2 x 3) .. this water is very hot but doesn’t take long to get used to... was recommended to use this first... let the water run over your head too.. very clear & no sulphur smell.
Then there is a tub style next to it.. very relaxing & slightly cooler... there is a step you can’t see .. so suggest sitting on the edge and just lowering yourself onto step so you can feel the bottom.. not deep.
The small pool is warm... same thing has some more steps you can see... about waist deep... not recommended to put your head under here.
I moved around all of them several times & also sat down under the hot water which was amazing.
Come prepared to go in.. bring a towel.. you will dry off quickly anyway.
I didn’t use showers or toilets ... these were yucky.. but don’t let that put you off coming.... it was a worthwhile trade off.
There are some stalls for light meals, refreshments, local snacks & ice cream.
I will return here again... with my grandchildren next time.
ENJOY.. 👍😁

Went back to Belulang, a very small village in the midst of bali's rice basket. The Sawah and the paddies are always green here, never dry like in the rest of Bali in the dry season, because there are many springs all over the place coming from the nearby mountains. There is also a hot spring with a temple built around. The hot water is directed into a little thermal bath mostly used as bath tub and hot water shower by the villagers. In this hidden place old women and young boys still bathe naked. Girls and more modern people are covered. It is certainly one of the last paradise like places in Bali. I found it the same way I left it 6 years ago, lush and tropical. The only difference: the entrance fee for tourists is 5 dollars - 1 dollar for Indonesians, free for locals.
I speak a little Indonesian which makes for some simple conversations with the villagers. So I was told that there are white people interested in buying up rice paddies - 100 square meters for about 4000 dollars. This news made me very sad. Maybe in a few years my pictures will be all that's left from this wonderfully natural place.

We rented scooters in Lovina and drove through the surrounding hills to the Belulang Hot spring. The spring is an old, charming place where you spend one hour or so. Not too crowded. There is a restaurant where the food is ok. it is a nice day trip from lovina.

I paid to enter then dipped my hand in and the water was barely lukewarm, so I did not get in as it was getting a bit nippy around sunset so asked for a refund, but the woman was quite rude. its not much money but its the principal. the only good thing was the view of the surrounding rice terraces.

It was very dirty. Water looked like it had not been changed in weeks. Toilets were horrible and everything was just dirty. Try elsewhere.

We knew what to expect, small and local. Very basic and warn change rooms, small mineral pool. But the water coming out of the walls ( just pipes) was seriously hot/warm and amazing!! And we loved it. Not one tourist ( but us!!) was 20000 ea and 5000 parking ( we had our own car) lovely lady met us for tickets, and she spoke English well. Not super clean but beautiful location. And plenty of little warungs there around the temple grounds. And it is a treat to get there!

We went to this hot spring as we wanted to go somewhere without many tourists.
We were the only “white” people and all looked at us as I think only western people come here once in a blue moon.
The locals were really friendly and we stayed for about 40 minutes.
There are showers with hot water and 2 pools, the tiny pool for approx 6 people is about 37 degrees.
The water is not clear but also not dirty.
What was white wenn we wend in the water was afterward red, so think of what your wearing.(ocher)

Nice environment where the hot springs were, a lot of women trying to sell tings on the way to the springs. The water was not as hot as we thought it would be and did not smell to bad. There were changing rooms and showers on the area
