My wife used to dive with her family when she was younger & booked this for an activity on our recent holiday. We're 45-50 age bracket & I have never dived before so I was very anxious about trying this out. I'm bit that great on the water & I'm terrified of sharks! The dive instructor was amazing. He was very careful in going through the safety training. We're from Sydney and our son did a similar course here in Sydney for his 16th birthday. I can honestly say the training and support was 5 times better at the academy than here in Sydney. I wss very surprised at that. In Sydney they did a 15 minute theory run through (in the car park) before heading to the dive. In Bali we spent 30 minutes doing theory, with a small exam at the end to make sure we understood the instructions, then we spent another 20 minutes in a small pool practising & making sure I knew the techniques e.g. if I dropped the regulator how to put it back in. Tge safety aspect was infinately superior. On the dive, the instructor was calming and held my arm for the first 15 - 20 minutes of the dive & didn't let go until he was sure I was safe. I felt so safe doing this, I'm super impressed. We dove to a maximum depth of 12m and drifted in the slow current along the edge of a coral wall. That was the first dive. We then had lunch & went for a second 45 minute dive at a diffeeent location closeby to see the entrance to an underwater cave. We weren't allowed to go in due to safety. They are very safe there. Sadly, diving isn't my thing. I was worried about sharks most of the time (this was an irrational fear as there has only been 2 non-fatal shark attacks in Bali in the last 100 years). Even though, I still managed to enjoy myself, noticing brightly coloured fish, starfish, and streams of fish swimming by. My wife said it was at least amonst the top 70 - 80% of dives she has done, rating the day a 10/10. In Sydney our son got 1, 20 minute dive to a depth of maye 5m on a sandy beach. They saw maybe 2 fish. I would absolutely recommend Bali diving academy based on: 1) Safety. Even though it was my first time & the water scares me I felt very safe with the instructor. 2) Staff. Eoh was an extremely patient instructor. Asking to try something twice just meant the dive was a little bit safer rather than an annoying tourist being over-cautious. And of course as with most places all of the staff were friendly. 3) The experience (location & diving package). It was expensive at 4Mil Rupiah for the day for 2 of us, but definitely the highlite of our Bali trip. Lunch was great, we saw tons of fish, dived to 12m amongst coral. I'm super lucky this was where I did my "taster" experience of diving. Thanks Bali Academy and Dray (the manager) for looking after us so well & getting me into the water & back home safe!…

So glad I took a day to come dive here! Trey was welcoming and made me feel very comfortable knowing I was in good hands with a reputable operation. The local crew were excellent - my guide Gede very friendly and knowledge lane. He found a lot more fish than I would have ever seen alone! And lunch was delicious and authentic! If you’re teetering on which shop to go with - go with these guys!…

I did this tour on 28th January and had a great day. The water was very clear, the water calm and there was many fish and some nice coral to see. The staff were very good and helpful. Went to two different spots, each spot for one hour. The second spot had a bit more rubbish and jellyfish in the water but there was still plenty of fish to see. Didn’t see a turtle but the divers did see one on their first dive. I have just gone snorkeling in Amed but no where near as good as Menjangan Island. I would highly recommend doing this tour.…
