We enjoyed this temple site more than others. Beautiful grounds and view of the lake. The restaurant inside offers good food that we could quickly receive for our drive back to Denpasar. The market outside offers the usual tourist items.

We arrived early before 8am, there were only a few tourists there which was perfect as we went passed a day before in the afternoon and the car park was full of tour buses.

Had a really peaceful 30minute walk around, the sun hadn't had chance to burn through the few clouds of mist so we got some great atmospheric photos

This is one of Bali's loveliest temples. the entrance fee is modest and the grouds and gardens are impeccably well kept. Go early to avoid the heat and the crazy busloads of tourists!

I brought the clients to this temple. They are Raphael and Andrea Holetzki from Switzerland.

They were so happy with this place. Beautiful!

This little temple is often confused with the big, more touristy Uluna Danu Beratan. This temple is actually next to another lake (not directly at the lake) and much smaller. Still beautiful, in between the strawberry fields and worth a visit if you want to avoid the masses.

Pura Ulun Danu Buyan is blessed by a cooler, less humid atmosphere from which to appreciate it. Being up a mountain, we had a brief escape from the humidity of sea level Bali. The temple itself was, yet again, beautiful. Part of it is built out into the lake, with a stunning backdrop of mountains.

A real tourist trap but you can really understand why. Situated on the lakeside, the complex is extensive with the main Temple on an island on the lake. Very beautiful, quite cool temperature at 1000 metres above sea level.
Wonderful.

If you are planning to visit Bali, one of your stop has to be the Ulun Danu Temple.
This temple is on the waters of the lake Danau Beratan and is really a suggestive place! If you visit it in the early morning is better, because during the day there are lots of tourists around. Nearby there are some amenities such as ATM and restaurants. Not far there is also a nice tipical market, in case you have the chance...

This temple feels as spiritual as Disneyland. I visited it around midday and there were thousands of people walking around, not really knowing what there were supposed to look at. The temple is not as picturesque as you would imagine, but the lake view is alright.

The garden around is decorated with ugly concrete statues of cartoon characters (Spongebob etc.), I really wonder who thought this would be a appropriate in a place like this. And to complete the scenery there are of course plenty of souvenir shops inside.

As a tourist, I feel slightly ripped off, plus I am embarrassed to be part of this tourist invasion of a holy place.

Oh and by the way, if you’re a woman and you’re on your period, you’re not allowed to go in! Nice.

It's really not what it seems. Very small, water usually isn't around the base like in the pictures.

We went to munduk, and our perama was going from bedugul so we just wondered down to have a look. You have to pay a lot for not much.

If you're in the area, it could be worth stopping in, but do not make an effort to travel up for the temple, it really is a massive disappointment. Lots more beautiful temples in Bali.
