Our family of six went here first thing, and we were put with a group of other families for a tour. The tour takes about 30-40 minutes and I learned a lot about the people that settled there. My teenagers also learned a lot. They had a room where kids could pretend to drive a covered wagon, and other activities.... More

Like other church visitors centers, the LDS center in Independence has the same exhibits about church beliefs and doctrines, but then it branches out to share some of the history of LDS adherents in that area. Since Hubby and I both had ancestors who followed Joseph Smith to Jackson County, Missouri, we spent a couple of hours hearing about that... More

A beautiful place to walk out of the world and feel peace, even if it's only for a while. The missionaries are so sweet and welcoming. It's a must see if you are visiting Independence!!

Nice visitor center. Helpful information about city historical cites. Most info concerned Harry S Truman. An informative 12 minute video about the life of Truman. Some store items for sale.

Found in Independence Missouri, nice air conditioned building. The people give a very nice tour, which contains many examples of early Mormon pioneer life in Missouri.

You are tour of all of the fights in Independence should begin here. Lots of knowledge and friendly people working there or maybe volunteering. But you'll get a great start for all of what independence offers here

Visted this site about 10 years ago and it's been almost totally redone. We loved the sister missionaries who were very wll informed and able to give the history of the area in reference to the church. We were traveling with our son and his family and the kids were very engaged with all the different presentations they have there.... More
