This is a great place to stroll along the Independence Square where you'll find lots of good places to eat, Harry Trumans Courtroom in old Courthouse, antiques, coffee, and a mule-pulled schooner with fun stories of the Queen City in the 19th Century.

We like to go up and walk around and look in the shops, and maybe even see a movie. They have lots of wonderful places to eat lunch or dinner, but alot close at 5 or 6.

Nice quaint shopping area with a variety of specialty shops and restaurants. I have lived in the area my entire life and there always seems to be something fun happening on the square.

I love how Independence has preserved so many of these old buildings. The charm of the square is my favorite thing about Independence. You can step back in time while maintaining today's conveniences. There are a number of shops, restaurants and entertainment on the square as well.

It's really all about harry Truman. Quaint little town. Neat facts about harry and his life. We missed his house tour because it was full. Don't miss it like we did,

Take a walk around Independence like the late great Harry S. Truman did everyday while he lived there. Great food, great people!

The Independence Square offers a lot of different shops and businesses to pick from. There's quite a few restaurants around the square and a movie theater. Most of the time I take my wife and we go to the movie theater as it's kind of out of the way from the big AMC Style theaters and I enjoy the little... More

I was able to walk around the square early while waiting for the Truman Visitor center to open. As it was winter hours some of the sites in the area were not open. Lots of little shops to browse through.

This is a quaint little spot in Independence. Known for the "Square" so make sure you go and visit. Cafes are good and so are the shops :) Enjoy!
