We visited here twice in 3 days because the beach and water were so good. I googled best beaches in Bali and Bias Tugel came up and looked stunning. We were staying in Candidasa and it took us only 20 minutes to get there on our scooter. We navigated our way down the bush track to the best beach we’ve visited in Bali by far. Lots of sun lounges available for 50000 rp a day, and good food and drink choices at the warungs. Our photos should tell the story of how picturesque this place is. We will be back!

My favorite beach in Bali, very slow and quiet, there are a lot of warungs sell cheap food and sun bed which you can pull in a more shadow area (say NO to sunburn)
This is one of the beach the bali where you can swim as it situated in a lagoon, the waves are easy and you could see the boat come in and come out as it's next to a small harbor if you want to go to Lombok. Also the white sands!
Definitely a most visit if you're in the area.

There are just a few pristine white sand beaches in Bali and Bias Tugel is one of them. Compared to the nearby Blue Lagoon Beach and Virgin Beach, Bias Tugel remains a fairly unknown destination while being easily accessible. There is an entrance fee of 5,000 IDR per person and you can also rent beach chairs with umbrellas for 50,000 IDR from one of the snack shacks lined up along the beach. Visit my Instagram (IG: kelledstyle) for more pictures :)

Visited the beach several times as it had the right balance of lovely scenery, good swimming, not too crowded, cleanliness, nice warungs, and really lovely local people.
We negotiated lougers and umbrella together with food and coconuts for one (very reasonable) price, ...but also enjoyed a great massage (seriously one of the best I had in Bali!). We also had some nice discussions with the locals, who are very friendly and kind.
Access to the beach costs 10K IND per person, (less than 1$), and the path from is a bit steep and goes through some jungle... but it is worth it.
Despite being just around the corner from Padang Bay and the ferry docks for Lombok, the beach and ocean were nice and clean and looked pristine. The area seems to be cleaned each day and there was almost no trash in water, and the locals are very proud of their beach. While swimming with goggles we saw fish and coral, and the waves were just big enough to be fun.
We really enjoyed our time here,... and our last visit was just before we had to depart for the airport... we wanted this beach to be our last couple hours on the island.

Preparation is important when walking to this worthwhile destination. It is very walkable from Pandangbai. If you can, be sure to download a map of the area onto your phone - it will help. Get directions from your hotel - and ask questions. We found two routes - one was a trail that started by a chicken coop and the other that we used on the way back was a series of stone stair cases from a failed resort development (I think). There are helpful signs put up along the way - but you may miss them. Ask people you encounter along the way, stick with it and you will make your way to White Sand Beach. I brought along a mask and snorkel. We spent a bit of time at one of the beach eateries having a coffee and observing the people playing in the big waves. Once I figured out that it was safe I went in and swam past the waves to do some snorkelling. The high point was when a local kid pointed out a turtle to me and I got to swim along side for a while. Very cool! Nice beach, nice eats with a nice family vibe. Well worth the effort to find it.

Pros:
- beautiful scenery, with fine white sand and clear waters
- less crowded compared to other beaches
- has good cell reception hehe
- has a couple of warungs (small food stalls) that serve snacks and drinks
Cons:
- the beach was a bit far from where we were staying (Ubud). We had to rent a car (350,000 IDR for 3 persons, two-way) and went on a 1.5-hour drive to reach the beach.
- there's about a 10-minute hike through steep concrete steps and unpaved slopes to the beach, which may not be accessible for children, differently-abled persons, or the elderly
- no shower area
- during our visit, the waves were so strong, it was very difficult to actually swim in the waters (this may not be the case on other days though)
Costs:
- 10,000 IDR entrance fee per person, but I read that there are other entrances to the beach which do not charge fees
- 50,000 IDR for renting a beach chair and umbrella
Other tips:
- go early (7 to 8 AM) to enjoy the the beach without the big crowd of tourists and the burning mid-day sun
- bring your own water, food, and beach blankets to incur less costs hehe

We had a great day out at Bias Tugel- the day we were there had sparkling clear water, and a very clean beach. We set up for lunch at one of the local warungs, and there was fresh grilled fish and chicken, cold beers and great juices. It was a nice change from other places in Bali, and the vibe was very relaxed. The current, on the day we were there, was a bit strong and waves were dumping onto the shore, but it was still pleasant for swimming.

It takes a fairly long time to get to this beach, having to follow a small track over the hill near Padang Bai. Once there, you’ll see a number of small warungs and even an abandoned hotel overlooking from the cliff.
Beach has decent waves and light sand but was quite dirty when I visited November 2018. Turned me off swimming. Would be really nice if it was properly maintained!

I asked my driver to take me to a true Bali beach and was not disappointed with Bias Tugel beach.
After a short walk down a steep track through the jungle the beach appears like a paradise. I arrived at 10,15am and found only 4 other people on the beach.
There are about 7 warungs each renting sunbeds for about 50,000 a day, you can hire snorkels and swim the reef, during my time there I saw a turtle on the top of the sea just past the waves.
The waves can be very strong so I would recommend that only strong swimmers attempt this.
I also had lunch at one of the warungs and opted for the grilled prawns which were fantastic.
well worth the trip to a proper Bali beach

AKA Sandy Beach
Without doubt our favourite beach.
Charge to access beach £0.50P/P
Steep decent on difficult terrain.
Open 9-6 then closed with steel gates on access routes.
Immaculate secluded golden sands, azure blue waters with a big swell and occasional “dumping” waves.
(Potentially not safe)
To the rear of the beach is a selection of inexpensive Warongs selling quality food and drinks.
Loungers and brollies available. Cheap !
Great for people watching.
Toilets are a disgrace.
Stayed for 6 amazing hours.
Never stayed on a beach for longer before.

This beach does it have a good sunset view?
Written June 3, 2018
Nope - its facing the wrong direction... great sunrise view though.

This beach looks gorgeous! Is there any accomodation within walking distance? Thanks in advance.
Written May 27, 2018
There are many accomodations. Today we walked a little and we saw diffrent hostel, hotel and guest houses we didn't know they were on that road. However, this is still the best beach on padang bay with the best local food restaurants but....... the beach is much smaller then before and then on the picture. With high water no place on the beach.
