My review is for Pantai Masceti - Black Sand Beach. We read about this place in Lonely Planet. Our driver drove us to Pantai Masceti, and there were no tourist or vendors. This was great. He took us to a local spot, where we took...More

Nice enough place to visit, but no 'beach' for sun bathing or swimming there. Most of the year the beach is covered with baseball sized rocks, A few restaurants around, but not special. Good views of Nusa Penida and Tepekong island off of Candi Dasa.

Someone who´s expecting nice beach can be really disappointed - trash everywhere. However it´s possible to find some cleaner spots.

We were the only tourists when we arrived late afternoon with a few locals chatting on the beach. The currents were strong so we skipped swimming here. Nice place to just chill.

Our hotel had a black sand beach in Manggis, it was stunning. There were cabanas waiting where you could just lay and relax while listening to the ocean.

Being from Western Australia, white sandy beaches are commonplace, so this beach really tantilized the senses.

this was worth a look but it was filthy with litter everywhere. the sand is very black and unusual to see, beyond that don't plan a day there

if you want to spend some time at a lonely beach on Bali, this is the place to go. Don't forget to bring sandals or shoes, cause the black sand is pretty hot
