This is just a kind of place. Nothing about Gandhi here except a few photos and manuscripts. The only reason you should visit this place is that you get a top view of the ocean and around. You can go all the way up to the top floor and click some good photos and come back.

We were instantly seized upon after entering. The official led us to the shrine that once held Ghandi's ashes. Then gave us a full tour and explanation around the place. It is interesting and doesn't take long. He gives a brief explanation of events. Be prepared to donate to his 'poor' fund.

Apart from a memorial which is facing the beach, there is nothing special about this place. Perfectly miss-able!

This place is famous since the cremated ashes of Mahatma Gandhi were kept here before they were drained in the sea as per his wish. Couple of his portraits in his young age is very notable. But the view at the tallest part of this building is so good.

Nice to visit, and see this memorial built in the name of Gandhi. Place is well kept and clean too. No entrance fee in case someone is wondering.

Gandhi Memorial is built in the honour of our Father of Nation. This building is built on the spot where Gandhiji's ashes were kept for public viewing before immersion into the sea. Gandhiji had visited Kanyakumari during Freedom Struggle Period and admired the rejuvenating landscapes and sea here. He was charmed by the beauty and calmness of this place. Gandhi... More

The architecture and the shape of the memorial is good. It has the ashes of Gandhiji in it as they say. There is a hole in the ceiling to highlight ashes with light but no rain comes as they say. The history of Gandhiji is also depicted there.

Gandhi Memorial is a 79 feet tall building constructed in 1956. This building is built on the spot where Gandhiji's ashes were kept for public viewing before immersion into the sea in February 1948. The 79 feet height of the building signifies the age of Mahatma Gandhi. Mahatma Gandhi was 79 years old when he was assassinated. One special thing... More
