The chowkidar/attendent gave fake introduction without asking for it. And then asked for money for poor kids and when I gave 10rs he was insisting for 100. It has just few old looking Mahatma Gandhi photographs. Nothing to see. I noticed that only those trying to hide from the sun were the visitors.

It's just a believe like Vivekananda memorial rock, just you can see few photo graphs and sea view, not more than that.

Although we arrived at the memorial when it was near to close. But it is advisable that one should go to Gandhi Memorial before Temple Darshan after seeing Sunset. It is a beautiful place.

Gandhi Memorial is a monument built in honour of Our Father of Nation - Mahatma Gandhi. It's a three storeyed building constructed in such a way that, on Gandhi Jayanti (that is 2nd October every year), the sun rays pass through a hole and fall exactly on the surface area in the central hall of the building, where his ashes... It is good Memorial structure on memory of Gandhi. You can spend whole day with enjoying beauty of Indian Ocean and it waves lands in foot of mother India. You must visit place in Kanyakumari. It is situated in kanyakumari which is the southern most tip of India. It architecture also unique looking and of course well communicated.

This is just a kind of place. Nothing about Gandhi here except a few photos and manuscripts. The only reason you should visit this place is that you get a top view of the ocean and around. You can go all the way up to the top floor and click some good photos and come back.

We were instantly seized upon after entering. The official led us to the shrine that once held Ghandi's ashes. Then gave us a full tour and explanation around the place. It is interesting and doesn't take long. He gives a brief explanation of events. Be prepared to donate to his 'poor' fund.
