Had heard of this Memorial dedicated to the Father of Nation. Thought of visiting this place. Was deeply disappointed with the maintenance of this place. It was not at all clean and yet we were asked to remove our foot wear to visit it. This is a three storeyed building dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi. Central hall has pictures portraying the... More

As we were visiting kanyakumari and after visiting Vivakanada rock memorial and Trivelluar statue. Sangam of three seas. We were going to sunset point so we thought we will visit Gandhi dham before that .You have to deposit your footware for a nominal price before you enter the building. A wonderful historic place to visit for a pilgrimage with amazing views of the three oceans and where devout Ghandi spent time and indeed where his ashes rested before being committed to the oceans.

It is the place where Gandhiji's Ash was kept before it was dissolved into Sea. Rare Photos of Gandhiji are displayed. If we goto top floor we get a good view of Thiruvalluvar Statue and Vivekananda Rock and Seashore. Ideal for Photos.

The place where the kalash{vase} containing the ashes of Mahatma was kept before immersion in sea. Entrance is free. Rare collections of photos of Gandhi are displayed. Not much time consuming place.

A memorial built in the memory of Mahatma Gandhi. The ashes were kept at this place and then merged with trisea waters. The architecture of this building is nice. You have lot of steps to climb to reach various levels of balconies from where one can see a panoramic view of sea

This is another memorial place to visit if you travel to Kanyakumari. This is a place where Gandhi spent few days and his experience was surreal. So you would see his quotes and few snaps of prominent people he met. Don't miss it.
