This is located near the shores of Kanyakumari. The opening timings of Gandhi Memorial are from 7 AM to 7 PM. There is no entry fee for Mahatma Gandhi Memorial. However, you are required to pay a minimal amount of Re.1 for keeping the footwear outside the memorial as footwear are not allowed inside the memorial. Another feature of Gandhi Memorial is the view of the surrounding areas from the top of the memorial that is breathtaking. So take your time while visiting Gandhi Memorial and spend some time watching the captivating view. This calm and serene place will be loved. Don't forget to visit the library showcasing books, magazines, pamphlets and other kinds of literature from the pre independence times. Only open on Fridays and Saturdays

It is memory of Mahatma Gandhi , who is known as a bapu of India. The ash kept here before its immersed in sea. Place looks little dirty, need attention on cleaning as you can see lots of dust are there inside the memorial.

I’m so glad we went to this place. It was so good to see a clean well maintained place for the great one in the era of Gandhi haters. One can spend an hour or so in this place. No ticket to enter. Shoe keeper charges Rs 10. Great ocean views from here.

Unfortunately, I fell for a scam here. I entered inside the memorial in which a man approached me asking to show me the ashes. As we crossed the rope line, I thought it seemed a l little strange, so then I moved back to view the plaques on the wall. He began to yell and demand a fee that he was my guide and I did not pay him. It was not quite the spiritual environment I had hoped for so just avoid anyone trying to show you things.

His memory is here with great style. The incidence that the ray of sun falls just upon the tomb on 2nd October, at 12:20 Hrs, is really interesting. The Memorial building is also of great attraction.

This is a Memorial to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, who had visited Kanyakumari in 1925 and 1937. It is constructedat a place on the seashore, near to Kumari Amman Temple, where his ashes were kept for public darshan before immersion in the sea on February 12, 1948. Very beauty ful comstruction and well maintaines.

There could have been more collection other than few photos. You can claim up to the building to have ocean view, but nothing special inside the memorial.

The stairs are bit slippery, so be cautious with kids and grown up.

The "Gandhi Mandapam(Memorial)" is built in the form of a small temple and situated at Triveni Sangam of Kanyakumari.. Entrance was free but footwear had to be removed before entering the memorial building. It was built in 1956 on the spot where the ashes of Mahatma.Gandhi were kept after his cremation. It is a simple enclosed large circular hall with a urn placed in the centre for public homage. It has been designed in a manner where the Sun's rays penetrate the ceiling through a small hole at exactly 1200 hrs and lights up the "URN" where the original ashes of Gandhi was kept. The Mandapam also houses some of the last accessories that were with Mahatma Gandhi during his final hours before his assassination

This memorial might be having a historical significance but it's in a very neglected state...
One more proof of lip-service by concerned authorities in the name of our "Father of the Nation"

Inside the memorial there is nothing much to see except Framed Photos with depiction written below. Place is not well maintained and left much to be desired.
However, if you are still visiting the place then you must go upstairs and have the spectacular beach view from top...! It was only our saving grace during this disappointing visit...

Tip: If you are short of time, then better avoid visiting this place.
