85 feet giant Marvellous Shiva statue ..
Nov 2019
Not being a popular explored destination, this magnificient huge statue is toward the outskirts of Bijapur city of karnataka.. There are some good lawns and shops to offer decent food stuff to devotees. Maintained neatly by a seva trust, the shiva statue stand s as a remarkable attraction of Bijapur city. One can also find a small play area for kids with few play options.. overall a nice weekend attraction for the people nearby

Shivgiri Temple
Dec 2018 • Family
The Shivgiri temple is located on the outskirts of Bijapur. There is a very large statue of Lord Shiva here. It is popular with the locals as there is also a park adjacent with some rides.

Nice peaceful park connected to this and a circus of carnival rides on the other side. What has happened to India?

Temples have become just a place to entertain and make money. Playground and rides for children. Nice place for a family picnic. Not a place of worship.

Second Largest Shiva Idol - 85 feet tall in Bijapur Karnataka
Jul 2018 • Family
Lord Shiva Statue is an 85 feet tall statue of Shiva that has been installed by the T.K. Patil Banakatti Charitable Trust in Bijapur on Sindagi Road. The idol was inaugurated in 2006 on Maha Shivaratri day. 1,500 tonnes statue of Lord Shiva is considered as the second largest statue of Lord Shiva in India and was prepared by sculptors from Shimoga for above 13 months.

The statue is in private property and is managed more or less like a theme park, but you are allowed to offer your prayers with help of a priest. There is a Rs 10 entry ticket for the same and parking is available. There are some small shops in the complex that sell cold drinks, juices etc. Shivagiri is very popular among locals and you can find families enjoying some small rides, slides, and swings for kids.

Big statue

If you have run out of things to do in Bijapur, feel free to visit this statue. Entry fee is 20rs. Otherwise, this attraction can be skipped as there is nothing nearby which is suitable for a foreigner.
