Famous for an offering called pongala, means a special dish is cooked in clay pot with rice, jaggery and all. In that special day men are not permitted to enter in temple premises. It's specially for women.

Had a good time during the visit and temple was clean and good. Also the temple is maintained well for the queues. The travel towards the temple from Kottayam was great with beautiful paddy fields and rivers running across.
