Well worth a visit on your way to the beach or coming back from the beach . It is only a 6 km walk from town centre to beach passing by the Light House and crossing the rail tracks.

Lately visit the place. But you will love the view it provides. You can have a great view of the beach. Not recommended for elderly and kids

Went here in the evening...if you want to go up, it closes at 5.30, so reach before that.

The steps become narrower as you go up. Views were good.

If you havent seen a lighthouse before & have time, could see this, else leave.
Nothing special.

The visit to the Lighthouse and Museum was worth the time spent. We however did not have time and energy to climb 105 steep stairs, but understandably the view from the top would be great.

Learnt that earlier the Light-source would be Coconut Oil Wicks, but now it is Solar Power.

Bit of a struggle to get up for even those who ate slim and fit. Good if you've never seen a lighthouse but nothing spectacular if you have

A Wonderful experience to see entire Alapuzha and the sea. This ancient monument is now celibate it's 150th year. Open to all except on Monday. A museum here will help understand history of lighthouse. Well maintained lighthouse.

Worth the climb up a fairly steep stairway to see Alappuzha vista.
Small museum on site where you can look at some old lighthouse lenses.

If I had been a follower of Shiva in 1862, I would have thought that the British Raj had given the Hindu an astounding present. It was only an aid to navigators but they could easily have been mistaken.
This is a well preserved edifice giving a wonderful panorama to those climbing the steps. Well worth the trip and small entrance fee.

At 100 rupees for foreigners this is a must see if visiting the area there’s a little museum at the side with some interesting memorabilia in it but it’s the lighthouse itself that’s the star here it’s quite a step climb up a narrow wooden staircase that you do barefoot as inside any building in India the last 10 steps are up a near vertical metal ladder but once outside the views are amazing
Please note you do need to be reasonably fit for this attraction

We visited the lighthouse around 16:30 in the evening. It’s 50 INR for foreigners to visit. You get access to the top of the lighthouse, wee garden and the museum with some lighthouse lights of yesterday.

It’s all very clean and you are asked to remove your shoes for both the museum and the lighthouse.

Wooden narrow stairs lead all the way up with no passing points so it’s a case of squeezing past those coming in opposite direction.

Views are great from the top.

During our visit four classes of school children came pouring up the top of the lighthouse. There was clearly no limit on the number of people at the top.

It cost us 70 INR for a tuk tuk from town to get to the lighthouse.
