Beach was damn cLean compared to other beaches. I really never expected this.
Security was there to avoid people taking bath in the water. Small shops around beach are offering good juices and food and not costly

Visited the beach several times during our stay here.
Whilst the beach is fairly clean there are no umbrella shades or loungers available to rent.
As such the beach is more or less deserted through the day, but people do come onto the beach as the sun goes down and at a weekend.
Found a great cafe called Catamaran at the top of the beach.

I went there just after the monsoon so most of the beach looked a bit dirty. We had quite a few hours with us as our houseboat booking was around noon and we reached Alleppey early morning. So we decided to chill by the beach for some time. But unfortunately the beach did not have much to offer. There were not even any food stalls. We spent some time lazing around and watching the fishing boats then we decided to return. I would only recommend visiting it if you have enough time in your itinerary.

As others have said, there is mass construction is going on the road at the top of the beach for several miles where a high rise flyover is being built; apparently this was the only place it could be sited. It is an absolute shame & a total eyesore. Plus we found the beach dirty with rubbish. Marari beach was a much better option and far more peaceful, although still a little dirty.

The main beach is crowded & has shops, restaurants, small vendors as usual. But half a km either side & its bliss.
There are some hotels with lounge chairs a little ahead...lookout for Palm beach resort as a landmark....that area is clean, no crowds & worth going.

One of the longest beach in Kerala. Very nice to see the sunset if lucky to have a clear sky. Peoples all around the world while visiting Alapuzha must visit this fabulous place. The oldest sea bridge also attracts every body.

Very serene and clean beach without much noise and hulla-gulla. But Lacking water sports activities. You can just enjoy cool walk, sun set and can play volleyball with local chaps.

Excellent atmosphere, very clean and well maintained, beautiful views add to one's experience at the beach.

The beach is very popular amongst the locals as well as tourists and has been maintained really really well and is very tidy.

An excellent place for an evening stroll around, and enjoy the sun set and the beautiful views.

Very highly recommended

S.H.I... You get the picture. Don't believe the wonderful, instagram-wortht pics. They are a lie. Directly behind the beach is an overpass, and an overpass in construction. Hardly a tranquil setting. Another place ruined by "progress"

This is one of the most popular picnic spots in Alappuzha. The beach is absolutely picturesque at sunset. The pier, which extends into the sea here, is over 137 years old. Entertainment facilities at the Vijaya Beach Park add to the attractions of the beach. There is also an old lighthouse which is greatly fascinating to visitors.
