I had been on the 7 hours tour. The overall experience was good, but I think that 3000 rupees is a bit to much for what is on offer. There are cheaper tours (like 1/3 cheaper) through hostels and hotels with similar comfort and ease. Lunch was plenty and tasty and we saw a lot of areas that are normally... More

We were picked up at 6:45am from our accommodation and taken to the river for our morning of kayaking. We were able to leave our bags on the support boat before getting in our kayaks. Samson kindly provides waterproof bags to take on the kayaks, should you wish to bring your camera or any other valuables with you. The kayaking... More

This is a great way to see the backwaters. The guide was a very friendly and likeable man. Watching the aunrise in the backwaters was one of the highlights of our India trip.

If the traditional houseboats are over of your budget or you want to do something more active, kayaking through the backwaters is a fantastic alternative! Our guide Sampson was funny, knowledgable and helpful, with his own unique perspective. Great to go down the smaller canals to get a real glimpse of the back waster life and communities. Would definitely recommend!

The backwaters are beautiful and I'd say this is the best way to see them. We paddled peacefully through narrow channels and along the larger lakes without the engine noise of the houseboats that have to stick to the lakes and don't get very near the shore. We were a group of 5 plus Samson our guide in three double... More

We joined the early morning outing, starting at 6.30am. The trip offered a good amount of kayaking interspersed with some time in the (surprisingly luxurious) support boat, as well as a delicious breakfast. We were able to travel down narrow channels and observe backwater life up close, and Samson provided a great commentary on what we were seeing - as... More

Having just come off a houseboat we were excited to go kayaking and experience life on the backwaters up close. We chose to do the half day (4 hour) tour which felt like enough for us - and our arms! Samson at Kerala Kayaking was a brilliant guide, taking us through the narrow canals and along the river with great... More
