Interesting and fun visit

Superb views, interesting exhibits (translation needed) and a great opportunity for cosplay. This 15 storey tower has stood here in some shape or firm since the Tang dynasty. Take the elevator to the top and work down. Dress as an emperor on the 12th floor. The daytime views are amazing and the whole place is illuminated at night to great effect.

I walked acorss the bridge to see the tower. Unfortunately when I got there, I found access to the tower was closed. Maybe in the future access will be allowed. My suggestion is to walk to this tower from the city centre, and then get a taxi to Mount Fule.

Very informative if you have a Chinese speaking person with you

The old Yue Wang Tower was damaged in one of the earth quakes in the area and was rebuilt. In this tower they are setting up a new kind of museum (some exhibition parts still under construction within the tower).

You would take the lift up to the 15th floor (top floor) to enjoy the view on a clear day. Up stairs there is also a stage and you have the possibility to test out some traditional clothing and possibility to purchase something to drink (i.e. tea).

You walk down stairs where each floor has a different exhibition, some with calligraphy as a theme, others with overview of famous poets from the Sichuan and Mianyang area. Ensure you have a Chinese speaking person with you as all the information is in Chinese.

For me it was simply a nice exhibition were I yet again learned something new about China - and that in a quite peaceful place.
