Enjoyable day-trip from Yixing
Sep 2017 • Friends
Initially I was surprised at the entrance price, thinking it was just some caves, but in fact there was plenty to do here and it was a very enjoyable day-trip. The caves themselves are okay, I think the lighting in them cheapens them but the compound also has gardens, temples, a toboggan ride, and great views from the cable car, so I think it is definitely worth a look if you are in the area. Be wary with transport, taxis cannot be found out here and the bus back to Yixing stops fairly early.

Lots to see a great family location
Sep 2016 • Friends
Spent a rainy September day exploring the cavern and associated park lands with work friends. Third largest cavern in the world, easy walking access though some of the stairs are rather steep. Lots of artificial coloured lights on cavern features and the waterfall and underground river were in full flow. End of the cave is a short boat ride to the exit which was a neat way to finish. We also took the chair lift to the top of the mountain and though the rainy weather masked some of the view it was still a great experience. A good destination for a family day trip.

Interesting...but a bit gaudy.
This is a huge, multi-level cave with a river flowing through it. Unfortunately, the multi-colored lights, a small laser show on the ceiling, and Chinese words carved all over take away from the natural beauty and majesty of this cave. However, the boat ride through a narrow, low part of the cave was fantastic.

Very Nice
We had a fun filled afternoon at the cave. This cave is gigantic with several large rooms. The cave is brightly decorated with colorful lights. The cave also has a large water fall. The tour ends with a boat trip across an underground lake.

Family fun.
Jun 2014
The caverns are fun enough for the whole family. We went on a rainy day and it was actually very pleasant with hardly anyone around. The caves are lit up with colorful lights. Which gives the caves unnatural look, but they are so large which makes the whole thing very interesting. I suppose there are no stalactites, stalagmites or other interesting mineral formation to the caves that the lights made the caves come to live and look neat to walk around in.
We went down to the lower caverns, which is quiet a bit far down stairs, but once you get down there and explore, it's very..very neat! At the end of the lower cavern, you come out to a small waterfall. Small but powerful waterfall. Walking toward the waterfall, I felt like I found Shangri La. Cute setting almost movie like. You just have to let your imagination run a bit wild. We then took a short boat ride across underground river. Watch out for your head! The top of the cave is low in places, and the American lawyers haven't worked their way through here yet.
When you're done with the caverns, there are good Stoll to be had. The ground is very well manicured, there's a butterfly park you can go to, a couple of different pavilions you can visit. All and all, it's a nice, interesting place for the whole family to visit for the day. Entrance fee is RMB 70 (for the caverns only), extra fees for the gandola ride, or the slide..etc.
Take a private car to this area. If you can contract a taxi to take you there, there's no taxi to take you back.
