I really enjoyed the zoo. Plenty of chances to interact with the animals. You can a feed package for $10. Food for goats, giraffes and birds. We also did the Hippo Encounter where you can feed hippo fruits and grains. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Feeding the birds and giraffes was so much fun. I love how close all the animals were to us, they weren’t far away like most zoos I’ve been too. Definitely recommend this place🦒

For a small town zoo, this zoo does not disappoint. If your looking for a large zoo with hundreds of animals, large food and drink options, and a place to spend an entire day. This isn’t it. If you want to see some great animals, up close for most, in a very nicely arranged and mostly shaded park this is it. Animals looked well taken care of, the thing that stands out to me is how many had babies! Not an indication of stress or mistreatment in my book. Also saw a negative post from someone from St Louis. I am from Houston area where we too have a large zoo, though not free, and St Louis does have a good one. I’ve been. But like ours you will not see the large crowds, having to park many blocks away from zoo, or feel like you have pounded pavement for an entire day! This was a fun well cared for zoo with some great animal interaction. Giraffes were the best!

We went mid July which was not a good idea. VERY hot/hunid when you are not used to it. Maybe having more fans with the mist sprayers would have helped. The animals seem to be well taken care of with room to live. Staff was pleasant.

You cannot see the gorillas except for a far away glimpse. We paid 20 dollars to take to train hoping to see them up close but still very far away glimpse. They said it's better for the gorillas but then why even have them there? The employees as a whole were incredibly rude. It was pouring raining when we first arrived and the first thing the girl greeted us with as we approached her was "we don't take rain checks, and the animals might not come out at all" and she was right, even though it dried up we never got to see the bear which our kids were so disappointed over. The giraffe feeding is fun, the bird sanctuary is very fun, thats the best part of the trip.
