Tourist trap

Disappointing. A little tent with a few butterflies - and you have to pay 2 dollars for that... Not worth it. I wouldn't recommend going there!!

I guess if you’ve never been to a butterfly exhibit you might like this. I thought it was very touristy. $2 to get in, $2 for juice. Not a lot to see. $2 in Kep is a lot of money. We rode bikes there and it was uphill and a rocky dirt road - and hot! No one spoke to us after they took our money.

Little park in the bush. Take a tuctuc from Kep and you will get there via a bomby road. Would advise to go there if you have some time.

Worth a visit
Sep 2019
Visited the Kep Butterfly Farm. It was peaceful and they had many varieties of butterflies. Beautiful colors and can see them act in natural environment but really giant cage.

Only difficulty is getting to the location. We took tuk tuk but can barely access on road to arrive. Still recommend.

Tot rust komen in Kep

We visited the crab market and the Kep beach and were driven crazy by the noise and the amount of people. Our lovely tuktukdriver (Lim tuktuk Kampot) recommended us to come here to have a quiet moment, and he was absolutely right! $2 is quite a lot for just the butterfly garden, which is lovely but small, but surrounding the farm is an amazing landscape of little streams and bridges, swings and a beautiful wooden house with a platform which gives you an amazing lookout point and a place to sit and relax.

Beautiful

It’s a nice place to walk around to get your nature fix for the day. We took the family for a few hours, because we all love beautiful butterflies and fresh air. The long dirt road to get there is in need of desperate attention that’s no lie, however once you arrive the cost of admission was like 2 dollars. The garden is beautifully landscaped, and there are many different species to enjoy! In fact there is a breeding or cultivation room, showcasing the stages of growth of the different types of caterpillars transforming into butterflies!! Very good for the mind of a child of all ages to enjoy. It was Very informative as well. There is a nice guest house area for relaxing and a fun swing to play on in the grass. We had a good time.

Not many butterfies
Apr 2019 • Solo
I went to the butterfy farm by bicycle which is on the way to Kep town. The first part of the cycle was easy as it was mainly flat however when I reached the edge of the National Park the road forked I took the wrong path as the farm was not well signposted (its the left path) which meant I ended up going up a fair way only to find a derelict building. The correct path is very rough not ideal for a push bike, even bumbpy for a scooter or tuktuk so I walked a fair bit which was a pleasant hike. I was dissappointed though with the butterfy farm as it was quite small and I did not see many butterflies - maybe it was the wrong season. If you want something different to do and enjoy a hike then its ok. I did not spend long in there.

It is amazing to se all the different species in their right surroundings. It is a special experience to see how they "farm" the butterflies. And the place is a beautiful garden.

One off few attractions in Kep and well worth the 1 dollar entrance fee... it's up a long and winding unmade road... and you'll spend around 30 minutes here.. but the netted area is the big draw.. plenty of butterflies to see..
