Amazing Day on the water with instructor Sal. He was was personable and had patience. I learned a few tips to make it is easier. I appreciate ease booking, good location and that class started on time and I got few pics that instructor sent me. The only disappointment was trash along the way. Love to see semi annual clean up with other local business along the route. A small additional fee each booking could be added to offset cost. Fyi- I also saw small water snake 🐍 just heads up for those of us not a fan but overall good day.

The 2-hour tour is an amazing tour to get use to paddling but above all to explore the green cathedral and the peaceful Kampot river. In the afternoon, colors are very beautiful as the sun is setting. Thanks to my guide I learned many things about the area and khmer culture.

Sal is an amazing guide. I had never been on a SUP before and was up and going within minutes. He is friendly, knowledgeable of the area, and put me completely as ease. The landscapes on the 2 hour tour make you feeling like you're in a movie. Highly recommend for all skill levels!

I really loved our half day tour with SUP Asia. It's not just that they had it worked out perfectly - picking us up at our hotel, Tuk tuk a few miles to river, training on how to paddleboard, then maybe an hour and a half along a lovely river with lots of education about the community. Then coconut water along a dock thingy, more paddling into an estuary to plant mangrove trees which both decrease soil erosion, improve soil quality (nitrogen fixers) and provides habitat for fish. We enjoyed watching birds, the diversity of the mangrove forest both inland and then along the shore. The gear was of quality. Annie, the owner and guide was a rare gem - with a huge heart and caring so much about the community and helping to ensure locals benefit from the tourism dollars. And knowledgeable about the ecosystem. It was really really great.

Awesome day in the river. Our guide was great and left you to enjoy the river at your own pace. Great for people who have never been on a SUP as well as experienced users. We did the 2hr tour early in the morning and really enjoyed it. A great way to see some of rural cambodia!

The most surprising thing about my SUP experience is that more people aren't doing it. For those who stay in Kampot there are many attractions but for me this is a must. I did this trip a couple of years ago and didn't hesitate to repeat the experience. As well as the paddleboard experience I had time to see the work going on to reclaim the coastal mangrove area. My guide was very helpful as were the other staff.

We had a two hour beginner tour with Sal who was lovely. He showed us the basics and then we got going. I’ve had a couple of previous SUP lessons but my husband was a complete beginner and we both managed to stand for most of the tour and only fell in once but we’re back up and running again before you knew it! So beautiful and interesting to see the river like this. Relaxed with a beer at the lodge afterwards. Thanks Sal!

I had booked a group tour. Because there were few registrations, I ended up having a private tour! My tour guide Sal could speak English well. Sal took photos of me and forwarded them to me via WhatsApp. I had a wonderful afternoon! Definitely a fun thing to do

I chose to use the SUP Asia company for our first time trying standup paddle boarding. Our guide (who I later learned was a Workaway volunteer) was excellent. He taught us how to do the sport (it was surprisingly a lot easier than I expected). They had their own TukTuk and provided up transportation to the river and back. The staff were very kind, even helping us with our scooter problems when we got back.

We had a lovely time here yesterday with my 4yo, 7yo and 8yo paddling out along the river. So beautiful and peaceful! My 4yo came on my board but my older two had their own and enjoyed the tour and smoothies at the bar afterwards!

Hello, I have never used SUP before and have two questions:
1. do you stand up all the time during the tour and is it very heavy on the back?
2. do you get wet on this tour? I should decide if wearing lenses or glasses? :-)
Written August 3, 2018
Hi, We have many people join who have never paddleboarded before. We offer a basic lesson with each tour.
-It is not necessary to stand up the whole time. In fact you can sit down and even lie down on the paddleboard. Some people choose to paddle sitting down part of the way if they feel tired.
-It is possible to get wet on the tour nut not necessary. You certainly do not need to get your face or head wet if you don't want to. We have seen people lose their glasses so we keep some fasteners on hand for you to borrow or yes, you can wear contact lenses if you prefer.
I hope this information is helpful.

Does anyone know, if it's possible to rent a SUP without doing a tour/no guide?
Written May 13, 2018
Hello,
Not at this time. At SUP Asia we offer SUP tours and lessons. If you already know how to SUP no worries the lesson is pretty basic and you can head out on the water after a few tips and reminders about protecting our gear and your own safety. We do not send our SUPs off without guides as we take our tours to remarkable places and offer an experience of the local area. We also use our boat or tuk tuk to follow tides and winds offering the best experience possible. We keep our group sizes small and are happy for guests to paddle away on their own once they have been taken to one of our unique locations and we know that they won't get lost or blown away in the wind. We do however sell inflatable boards at great prices and then set you free (:
