We hired a private room with aircon. The set up is not like anything I’d seen before - we had a bed with cushions, a big tv, and a toilet. The bed is a bit off-putting, we’d have felt much more comfortable on a sofa I think. It just feels too much like you’re sitting on a stranger’s bed, and we couldn’t help thinking of the things that mattress must have seen - it’s a private room rented out by the hour, after all! Having said all this, the experience was ok. The quality of the film and the sound were good, the guy who runs the counter is super friendly and explained everything really well, and you can pause the film anytime you need the loo. Would probably recommend to people who’ve been travelling around South East Asia for a while and are not expecting super sanitised standards. Note: you pay per person per film in the private room (price changes depending on day) but if your film is longer than two hours you pay $1 for the whole room - not per person)

It was raining all day when my friend and I were in Kampot for 2 days, hence we decided to give this a try. They had hundreds of movie and impressively some movies were quite updated, from Asian to Western. Since we were in Cambodia thus we decided to watch local movie/documentary about Khmer Rouge that took place in 1970s. It was great indeed! The title was “The Killing Field”. This cinema was more kinda like Netflix and chill. Good opportunity to try this though.

We went to watch an afternoon viewing of The Killing Fields. Comfortable seats, good sound and air conditioning. Could take in snacks and drinks. Good way to spend a few hours.

Because we were on a one year world trip this place felt like heaven to us. At that time we were already 5 months on the road with a backpack so having the comfort of a cozy bed, a big library of movies to choose from and some popcorn was excellent. If you have the time to spare and you want something different than this cinema could be an option. However I'm not sure if I would go there if I was only for 2 weeks in Cambodia on holidays. But other than that, great place. You pay what you get.
