Good for walking well socialized dogs. There is something for all fitness levels.
Take your pick...trails, grassy areas with slopes, and flat paved trails. Well maintained public areas. Trails in woods can be muddy after rain. Lots of parking options. Expect to encounter people of all ages, joggers, bike riders, and other dogs on leash.

Fun for the whole family. Pickleball is the best.
Best place to play Pickleball. Ten beautiful outdoor courts with friendly players. Open play all day, every day. The park also has par 3 golf, swimming pool, covered picnic areas, hiking trails, fishing spots and a beautiful lake. Lots of wildlife to see.

    Good park
I grew up going to Bur-Mil for the driving range and par-3 course (which was not very good back in the day... cannot speak to that now). However, I visited today on my walk on the greenway system. Some wonderful views of the lake, and plenty of parking. A couple good trails and greenway access.

I hike in Bur Mil park with my dogs. It is a beautiful place to go surrounded by lakes. You can walk or bike on the greenway or trails. The terrain is varied and you have your choice of flat terrain to hills.

BurMil Park abuts Lake Brandt and is an easy drive to get to, just north on Battleground Ave. The park has a golf course, some trails and shelters. The Greenway trail runs through the park and gives access to a number of lakeside trails around Lake Brandt. There is a small nature museum and a city swimming pool which is popular in the summer.

BurMil is by far my favorite Triad Park due to the shady, woodsy paths that go past Lake Brant and the connector to the Greenway and other walking trails. There are so many options to explore and lots of wildlife to see!

We had an office party there and everything turned out great. We reserved one of their nice covered pavilions for the afternoon and had a great cookout. The best part is that they allowed alcoholic beverages (beer and wine I think), where other city parks do not. After the cookout, we rented the pool for a while after it was closed to the public. No beer or wine there, but the kids and families had a great time having the pool to themselves.

Thanks Greensboro!

Burmil Park occupies several hundred acres on the banks of Lake Brandt. There are 2-3 miles of walking trails on the property. More importantly, it is located on the greenway and near the trailhead for 4.3 mile Owl's Roost Trail (one of the best trail bike/walking trails in the U.S). From Burmil, you can also access about 40 miles of lakeside and woods trails in the area, including the 8.2 mile trail around Lake Brandt (3-4 hours). The trails have a very rustic/mountain feel; I have walked them dozens of time and each is a new experience. Google "Greensboro Hiking Trails" for a map and brochure.

There are fishing ponds, a fishing pier in Lake Brandt, and a par 3 golf course. There are tennis courts and a nice swimming pool. Don't forget the numerous picnic shelters (free if not reserved), or just throw down a blanket and chill. The Wildlife Center building, with snakes, turtles, etc., is a treat for the young ones. Greenway great for biking too.

Nearby (2 miles) is Guilford Battleground National Park, a scenic several hundred acres preserving the site of this important 1781 Revolutionary War battle. It has a nice visitor's center and book store, and informative film about the battle. (Best book: Buchanan's Road to Guilford Courthouse). Next to this park is the new Greensboro Sciquarium, with its new world class aquarium, located next to Country Park. Burmil Park, and nearby attractions, can keep the entire family informed and entertained for days. Good selection of restaurants on nearby Battleground Avenue; Burmil offers mainly just snacks.

My family and I regularly visit Bur-Mill Park Pool. It has always been a great experience and the staff is friendly. One of our Visits my wallet and phone was stolen out of my bag. This is not a reflection on the pool or staff giving the fact it's at our own risk. I just want to warn others to keep a close eye on your things while you are there. I would suggest only bring cash and leave phones, purses, and wallets in the car.

This was a great place to 'get away' from the bustle of the city. The walk was beautiful and the path well cared for and groomed.

Hubby and I visited and chose the Owls Roost Trail with an extra section we tacked on based on the visitor center recommendation making it just over 5 miles. Trail was probably a moderate one- path was well defined, winding, and had its share of slight ups and downs. I would not try it with toddlers or the elderly. Majority of the route followed alongside the lake and we saw a variety of trees and squirrels. Visited beginning of December so many of the leaves had fallen and as we took a moment to take in the views, we noticed the subtle “rain” of leaves still drifting to the ground. Quite beautiful actually. Glad we stopped for a hike.

We go to the BurMil Park very often as a family, it is a very nice place for cycling and also for a walk! My nephew and his family live very nearby so it is a frequent outing for his family. You can enjoy, nature to its fullest as the walking tracks take you through the thicker foliage and you get to see the furry inhabitats ,birds and a variety of insects.
My favourite part is the stream and the walking path along it,on a hot summer day the serenity is amazing! It's a very good place for junior and senior cyclists both, given the good tracks and the scenic beauty along with it!
