A great gallery to see NC art and artists
Feb 2018 • Couples
A comfortable space with large windows. Their curators do an excellent job of bringing in some of the best North Carolina artists. Creative displays. They also have good art programs/classes for children.

Rush to savor the "Slow Art" exhibit
Feb 2018 • Solo
The Central Gallery has tapped into the Slow Art movement, exhibiting (through April 15, 2018) the works of four artists whose installations are meant to be savored, contemplated, and digested slowly. The gallery, which simply titled the exhibit "Slow Art," promoted it as being zen-like, and I agree that it is. Featuring pieces such as the literally contemplative walk-in "Portable Meditation Cube," by Leigh Ann Hallberg, and more subtle metaphorical masterpieces, such as Jan-Ru Wan's "Wearing Mortality on Your Sleeves," which is stitched with short-lived bean sprouts, the exhibit stimulates the mind and inspires one to tap into a depth of consciousness that the observer might not have even realized was there.

I enjoy solo trips to galleries because I can concentrate and move at my own pace. This exhibit is perfectly suited for that. For those visiting with children, the exhibit contains fragile floor pieces, and adults are asked to hold small children's hands. Also keep in mind that a loud child can dampen an observer's tranquility and silent interaction with the artwork. Allow about an hour. The gallery admission is free. A box suggesting a $5 donation sits in the gift shop, which, by the way, is worth a visit just by itself.

MAD about motorcycles
Mar 2017
Definitely go see this exhibit. The motorcycles are uber cool and the one with carved copper is worth the visit all by itself. There are clothes, stories, and videos. I wish there was a little more about the design of the bikes, like who did them and that kind of thing, but the background book was OK. Go to this exhibit -- it is worth the money and I am glad GSO is doing this type of display.

Fantastic end of year show.
Dec 2016 • Family
This is a once a year show. The works displayed were pretty incredible. The staff was friendly and were familiar with some of the works and artists. They were willing to answer questions we had. A must see for anyone interested in fine art or high end crafts.

Sep 2016 • Couples
I love that the art exhibits change frequently so there is always something new to see. great gift shop. Knowledgeable staff. Also large kids area with hands on interactions. There are free portions and some include a small fee (art quest for kids). I recommend checking it out.

Greensboro's CulturalTreasure!

Green Hill Center for NC Art has a wonderful gift shop, daily educational programs and an ever-changing gallery. I attended a recent special presentation called "Hanging With Jack" and it was informative and delightful. We learned from a professional art preparator how to hang art, including the right spot, measuring and how to the most of wall space.

Always stimulating - Don't Miss Going
Nov 2015 • Family
This gallery changes its exhibits frequently. The current exhibit of examining up close things not normally visible to the naked eye are totally fascinating, if not a little scary. A good Halloween exhibit. One is amazed at the digital phography and a little grossed out at watching live bacteria from people's mouth grow right in front of your eyes.

Wonderful place to visit
Jul 2015 • Solo
I have both visited here for the fascinating art displays and I had volunteered here for two years with the children's camps. This is a wonderful place to visit no matter what age.
