Interesting to find out about this part of the Revolutionary War.

This park is to commemorate the battle of Guilford Courthouse which finally ensured the break from England. Most people (like me) are not aware of this battle so far to the south.

Standard histories of the American Revolutionary War concentrate on battles in Massachusetts, New York and New Jersey. The most significant battles were actually fought in South Carolina and North Carolina. The most significant of these was at Guilford Courthouse in what is now Greensboro in central North Carolina, in which Lord Cornwallis sought to destroy the patriot army of General... More

Toured the park in our car in late June for it was a very hot day. It may appear that you are actually driving on the foot or bike path but you are not. There are several spots to stop and read of how the battle unfolded. Mondays the visitors center is closed so plan accordingly. The monuments at the... More

The Guilford Courthouse Military Park requires no admission charge. The Revolutionary War Battle that took place near the park is described in historical panels and video. Many artifacts of the period and the battle are on display. A telephone directed auto tour is available which describes 8 battlefield locations. We were not able to get the audio to advance, but... Great National Military Park with adequate parking and a fabulous visitor center. There are wooded trails leading to historic landmarks as well as a paved road. The road is clearly marked for cars, pedestrians and cycliists to share safely. Live historic reenactments of the Battle at Guilfird Courthouse are portayed on significant dates throughout the year. Keep your eyes open... More

Whether you walk, run, or bike, this park is great for all of them. Take the paved track or one of the trails. Deer come within feet of you as you explore the creeks and trails.

Guilford Courthouse is an interesting little park, with the combination of intense history and very active outdoors usage. I grew up in the North. Revolutionary War teaching really centered on the big Northern highlights - Philadelphia, New York, and Boston; Washington's Crossing; and then they went south and it all ended at Yorktown. That really isn't all of it. There... More

This is such a great place to get out and do some walking in. My husband and I love the history in the park and you can actually explore and see where things happened. We try to walk when the season cools down but most the paths are paved and shaded. I also love that it brings nature around you... More

On Wednesday, June 8, 2016, my wife, sister-in-law, and I went to the Guilford Courthouse National Military Park. This review is only about the visitor center, since we ran out of time. The visitor center has a short video that describes the battle of March 15, 1781, between Lt. General Cornwallis (British commander) and Major General Greene (Continental Army). It... More

Great place to visit to learn about a great battle in the Revolutionary War. The videos are very educational. Great walking and driving trails where you can see statues, graves, and other landmarks from that period in time.
