What a beautiful place with such a peaceful atmosphere. We just visited for the day and wish I could have stayed much longer. The birds and monkeys were brilliant but there's something really special about this place. I would live there if I could :)

I stayed here for 3 nights in August - just what the doctor ordered! The reserve is away from the bustle of Fort Portal and there are ample opportunities to hike and explore, or just throw up your hammock and relax. The staff were attentive and accommodating and the food was fresh and delicious- made to order. My cottage was spacious, clean and quiet with a comfortable bed and hot shower.
The monkeys are fun to watch but beware! If you turn your back - they will snatch that last piece of chapati off your plate :)

A little paradise in the crater lakes with an extraordinary friendly manager and stuff. The rooms a basic but clean, hot water is great, the surrounding nature is a garden eden. Monkey are all around and up for funny actions. The rates are very reasonable!
Highly recommended!

I went there on a day trip with some of my friends, our initial plan was to spend around 30-40 mins there, but after reaching there, we were not feeling like to come back as the nature reserve is so dense and full of trees, crops, several birds and monkey species. The best place to meditate for sure. When you goes there, just sit quietly and you would here all the different sounds of different birds species. I am not sure about the bird species this reserve is home of but yes there are so many bird species and you may here their mesmerizing sounds. Our stay was so full of peace.

I wont say that a day trip is enough to feel that magical touch of nature reserve if you have enough time, these people offers budget accommodation and camping facility as well.

So please fellows, do pay them a visit.

This is a region of crater lakes and tonight we are in a little lodge on the banks of Lake Nkuruba.

After ascertaining that the lake isn’t home to crocodiles or bilharzia worms we are soon ion for a swim. The water is warmer than yesterday’s showers. We later discover that there are leeches in the water and snails that can infect you too. But, hey ho, the swim was lovely.

We stayed at the cottage close to the lake and it was a magical experience, with plenty of monkeys and black&white colobus. The lake is safe to swim, I strongly recommend to swim there as we did, it was an amazing experience.
